Whats Next For Amir Khans Boxing Career

After the crushing defeat suffered by Amir Khan against Danny Garcia the question is where does Amir Khan go from here. Well, Garcia's dad made it pretty clear that his son will not be giving Amir Khan a rematch stating that him and his son will now be moving on to bigger and better things. I think Garcia's dad is right in not giving Khan an instant rematch, why should he. Does anybody think that if Khan would have knocked out Garcia, like he thought he was going to, would you see Khan giving him a rematch. I don't think so. It's only right now that Amir Khan should have to work his way back up by at least having one or two warm up fights against decent opponents before fighting for any major titles. After all, Khan did lose this fight fair and square.

It looked as though Amir Khan took Danny Garcia lightly. Khan expected to blow Garcia away in a few rounds and perhaps he didn't train as hard as he should of. He even stated in an interview that he felt this opportunity for Garcia to fight a prime fighter like himself had come a little early for Garcia. Whether Khan didn't train hard enough or not, does it really make a difference. Like the old saying goes, no matter how hard you train, you can't put muscles on your chin. And the truth of the matter is that Amir Khan got caught with a great punch and couldn't recover fast enough to clear his head in order to tie up, bide time, or box his way out of trouble. Perhaps he was just too macho because of all the talk before the fight and all the expectation that Khan would knock Garcia out quite easily. Khan got sucked into a war and that's not where Khan is at his best. He is in his element jumping in and out of range using boxing skills, which is something he totally neglected after two rounds in this fight.

Some people are saying that Khan should retire after losing the way did. Fair enough, he did get a beating but he is still young and I'm sure he can come back from this defeat and win another world title belt. But saying that, something tells me his management will be very careful match makers in the future. Anyone that can punch will be high risk. People, including possible future opponents for Khan have seen certain holes and weaknesses in Khan's game and will certainly have more confidence going into a fight against Khan knowing that if they apply smart pressure Khan can be stopped. Khan should work on his defence and inside fighting because in the Garcia fight he looked open, had no inside game, and was within range far too often after letting his punches go. His punching power also looked weak and Garcia seemed to walk through Khan's punches unfazed. It will be tough for Khan to come back from this but he can do it.

David Haye and Dereck Chisora again trade insults, trying to mentally get the upper hand on each other with the war of words. Not sure why the weigh-in was held on Thursday when the fight is on Saturday. Both fighters look in good shape and it's a tough fight to predict who wins. They each have their own set of quality's and I guess it's just a matter of how their boxing styles gel together. I do think this is a harder fight for David Haye. He is in with a guy who just comes forward non stop and this is going to be an energy sapping fight for Haye. If Haye doesn't get Chisora out of there within the first 5 or 6 rounds he is in danger of punching himself out. Lucky for Haye, this fight is only 10 rounds.

Box Nation caught up with David Haye at the Park Plaza Hotel where he talked about his up coming fight against Dereck Chisora. Haye is very confident that Chisora doesn't have the boxing skills to compete with him, and Haye says that he could end the fight by knockout anytime he wants. Something tells me it's not going to be as easy as he thinks it is to dispatch of Chisora by knockout. Chisora has never been stopped and in his last fight he went the distance with Vitali Klitschko. If Haye does stop Chisora by KO it will be an impressive show of power by Haye. Chisora has good punch resistance and Haye could possibly punch himself out if he goes for the knockout from the 1st bell.

After watching the fight up until the last second of the last round I turned the fight off before the decision was announced because I knew it was a complete shut out. Pacquiao had beaten Bradley quite easily. I wake up today and take a look on YouTube and see that Bradley won the decision!..How is that possible. He hardly won a round. He won 3 or 4 rounds at the most. Bradley fought with courage and did have some good moments but plain and simple, Pacquiao got robbed.

From the first bell it was clear that Timothy Bradley didn't have enough power to trouble Manny, and you could see that Manny was well aware of this flaw. Pacquiao took some flush punches and it didn't seem to bother him at all. This was not the case the other way round. Pacquiao's huge power and speed advantage had Bradley in trouble numerous times and he was lucky to survive some of the exchanges. Bradley's boxing and tying up skills saved him from being stopped. It was what some people said it would be. Just like some of Pacquiao's previous opponents, once they felt the power they were on the back foot in survival mode, and Bradley was no exception. Once he felt the power you could see that he thought -Oh sh*t- and he was then on the back foot for a lot of the fight in survival mode. No one expected this of Bradley because he is a come forward fighter with a huge heart and determination to win.

So even more credit goes to Manny Pacquiao for convincingly beating Bradley and making him understand and taste first hand the skill and power level of one of the best boxers in the sport today. He knew he was out of his depth. Fair enough, Pacquiao did take his foot off the gas in some of the rounds, but what did Bradley do at those moments, land a small flurry of punches with zero power and then go on the back foot again..Is that enough to win the round. It shouldn't be. Bradley had more success in the later rounds, but it was too little too late.

Bradley never knew what hit him in this fight. Deep down inside he must know he lost, no matter what the decision was. Paquiao won this fight. And that's coming from someone who actually picked Bradley to win and made money on Bradley winning the decision. Even Floyd Mayweather Sr, Pacquiao's best friend lol said Manny won.

However, theres is no sense in blaming Timothy Bradley, he fought the best he could, lasted till the end and won an extremely controversial decision. Who's to blame? The judges most probably. Or was (is) there a hidden agenda by some of the big fish of the boxing world here somewhere..

Great win for Pacquiao.

There is only one person left for Pacquiao to fight and we all know who that is. Then after that who else is there?
