Evander Holyfield Fails To Beat Nikolai Valuev - Holyfield Robbed

Evander Holyfield Fails To Beat Nikolai Valuev - Holyfield Robbed

After one of the most boring, inactive, no action fights of the last decade, Nikolai Valuev retains his belt. I want to make it clear, Evander Holyfield was robbed. He clearly won the fight. Nikolai Valuev hardly threw a punch all night, but still he got the decision. I think it is terrible that this type of thing can happen in boxing in this day and age.

From the first bell, Evander Holyfield was moving well around the ring, throwing the odd punch here and there, trying to avoid Valuev getting too close. But when Valuev did get close he did nothing. Nikolai Valuev threw about 20 punches throughout the whole fight.

This fight was a clean example of how bad the Heavyweight division is at the moment. Fair enough, Holyfield done what he needed to do in order to get the win, staying mobile and throwing a few punches when he had the chance. But still they robbed him. I must admit neither guy was impressive at all, but that was Evander Holyfield 's fight, not Nikolai Valuev's. You could even see in Valuev's face afterwards, he knew he had lost.

The judges have a cheek, and should all be sacked, making the clear winner the loser!

This fight does not deserve anymore coverage by me, it was that bad.We all know who the winner was and it was NOT Nikolai Valuev. The winner was clearly Evander Holyfield.

Evander Holyfield vs Nikolai Valuev

Evander Holyfield vs Nikolai Valuev

Holyfield Robbed In His fight With Valuev.

This fight is being looked as unfair, many people are questioning why Evander Holyfield has got this Heavyweight Title fight, most people think he didn't deserve it,basically it's his name that has made this fight happen, he is so well known and established as one of the all time greats, i think he desrerves this shot.

Wheather that's a safe choice or not is another matter altogether, Holyfiled is 46 years old! Is it the right option to even allow him to fight, should the boxing board of control of said no and protected him from himself. But what can we expect them to do? He past all health checks and is healthy and wants to fight.

Evander Holyfield vs Nikolai Valuev should be interesting, what does Evander Holyfield have left. He has prepared well for this fight, but could Nikolai Valuev just be too big, at this stage of Holyfields career to land some effective punches. Nikolai Valuev is massive in size, and from watching the weigh in, i think Evander Holyfield will have serious problems trying to connect flush in Valuev's face due to the sheer size difference, Holyfield has to work the body to bring the hands down then go for the head shots.

Evander Holyfield still has great power and determination and he has caused upsets many times in the past, so there's no way im going to say Nikolai Valuev will win this fight. You just cannot write off Evander Holyfield.

Nikolai Valuev isn't even a good boxer or puncher, it's his size that has been the problem for all the fighters that have faced him. He is very cumbersome and slow. But he is so big, it's laughable.

If Evander Holyfield does win the title from Nikolai Valuev, where does it end for Holyfield? In some ways i think it's safer if he loses, maybe he will retire then. If he wins, he will keep on fighting which could be dangerous.

I really hope Evander Holyfield can win this fight, but has age caught up with him too much now..We will have to wait and see.

Will Ricky Hatton Fight Floyd Mayweather Again?

Will Ricky Hatton Fight Floyd Mayweather Again?

There is much talk regarding this subject, will Ricky Hatton fight Floyd Mayweather. Floyd Mayweather has very recently said he would like to fight Ricky Hatton again, this could be down to money in my opinion, he knows Hatton is top draw and has so much support, it makes financial sense.

But does Ricky Hatton need Floyd more then Floyd needs Ricky..I don't think so. Ricky Hatton is in line to face Manny Pacquiao and has openly said he would prefer to fight Manny Pacquiao at the moment because he is considered the number 1 pound for pound at this moment in time. So Mayweather could end up fighting the winner of that fight! It has even been reported that Manny Pacquiao could fight Floyd Mayweather instead of Ricky Hatton, although nothing is certain yet. This is an exciting time at the moment with 3 of the best in the world potentially all in line to fight each other.

I personally feel that Ricky Hatton Vs Manny Pacquiao will be a great fight, much closer then people think. Ricky Hatton is very strong and could give Manny problems. In terms of Ricky Hatton fighting Floyd Mayweather again, i can only see that going one way, a victory for Floyd, i don't think it matters what Hatton does, he won't beat Floyd. Manny Pacquiao Vs Floyd Mayweather would be a dream fight but for some reason i see Floyd Claiming the win after a cagey fight with Floyd landing the more accurate punches.

These fights have the potential to the biggest fights ever! In terms of Money generated, and watched worldwide, and even the biggest attendance of any fight depending on where the fights get held.

Lennox Lewis To Help Train David Haye

Lennox Lewis To Help Train David Haye

It has been confirmed, Lennox Lewis will help train David Haye for his fight against Vitali Klitschko. Lennox Lewis and David Haye have been friends for a long time. Who better to train you for fighting Vitali Klitschko then someone who has actually fought him, and won too (controversially)..Lennox Lewis is also similiar in size a stature to Vitali Klitschko, so sparring with Lennox will be a much needed advantage.

Lennox Lewis knows what works against Vitali Klitschko and what doesn't, so what a priceless jewel Lennox is for David Haye at the moment. I would think that Vitali Klitschko is a bit more concerned knowing lennox is training Haye. But i think we have to remember and not forget, can any amount of training strengthen your punch resistance? Well, no it can't, so the big question mark still looms, can David Haye take Vitali's punches? I don't think so.

But at least training with Lennox Lewis will give Haye even more confidence, and that can't be a good thing. Hopefully Lennox will tell David Haye to keep his guard up and fight a cautious fight for the first few rounds.

The build up to this fight is getting more exciting every day that passes, from the decapitated head of Wladimir on the cover of the magazine, to Haye and Vitali wrestling!, Vitali robbing Hayes hat.lol, now with Lennox training with Haye, and theres still about 6 months till the fight!

Wladimir Klitschko Vs Hasim Rahman

Wladimir Klitschko Vs Hasim Rahman

This fight lived up to everything it was meant to be, quite boring and Hasim Rahman had almost no chance of winning. Hasim Rahman started the fight quite confidently but was soon huffing and puffing, it looked to me like he did not prepare well enough, which i found hard to understand. This was Hasim Rahmans shot! And he blew it, not even coming in good shape..What was he thinking.

Maybe he should just retire, if he can't get motivated for a big fight like that, one that could of catapulted him back into the big time, he's finished.

Wladimir stuck to his gameplan, jab jab jab, when he got a chance to land bombs he did, it worked very well. All Wladimir can do is beat who is in front of him.

This was an easy win for Wladimir, who didn't get tested at all in this fight. I think Rahman should go down a few levels and stick to small time fights. He talks big but just doesn't deliver. It was very shocking to see how fast he was knackered.

Hasim Rahman looked decent in the first few rounds, if he would of come in good shape he could of give Wladimir some problems. It just wasn't to be.

It looks like Wladimir Klitschko is leaving the fight with David Haye to his brother Vitali.

David Haye Vs Vitali Klitschko

David Haye Vs Vitali Klitschko

David Haye Vs Vitali Klitschko is almost set in stone. After many talks and meetings the two sides are almost in agreement with the fight taking place in June 2009.

Many people are saying David Haye has picked the wrong brother, which i think is true, but if David Haye beats Vitali Klitschko, can you imagine how concerned Wladimir Klitschko will be to face Haye in the ring.. This could work either way, Wladimir could get really angry and be extremely fired up for the fight, or he could think "Oh no, he beat Vitali who is better then me" "I have no chance!" We will have to wait and see.

Personally i don't think David Haye will beat Vitali Klitschko, he's way too tough and can take way too much punishment, but you never know.

The latest news is, David Haye and Adam Booth (Hayes manager) met up with Vitali Klitschko and his manager in Germany, went to a restaurant to discuss the fight, apparently David Haye threw a Magazine over the table to Vitali Klitschko, on the cover of that magazine was David Haye, holding the decapitated head of Wladimir Klitschko in his hand! Needless to say, Vitali Klitschko flew into a rage, wrestling with David Haye and pushing him quite hard into a table. David Haye was meant to of made it out as a joke. Vitali Klitschko was not happy to say the least, this should be an interesting fight.

Vitali Klitschko does not like Haye, specially after seeing the magazine cover. I think sparks will fly in David Haye Vs Vitali Klitschko. I think Vitali Klitschko is going to punish Haye badly.

Pound For Pound Boxer - Who's Number 1?

Pound For Pound Boxer - Who's Number 1?

There are some great boxers hovering around the pound for pound best boxer spot at the moment, but who is number 1? Well, all people have their own opinion. Any boxer in the pound for pound top 20 is an excellent boxer, and all boxers to have the courage to climb through the ropes and fight deserve credit.

I am going to list the top 5 Pound for Pound boxers, all superb fighters in their own way.

In 1st place, Pound for Pound best, i would say it has to be Floyd Mayweather Jr: Some people don't agree, or might say because he has said he's retired he should not be in the rankings anymore, but i disagree. Floyd Mayweather Jr has the best skills out of them all. His ring craft and masterful defense is breath taking to anyone that really knows boxing, and i think he deserves the number one spot for now.

Second in the pound for pound best boxers is Manny Pacquiao: This little guy has the heart of a lion and hand speed that most boxers just can't handle. Ask De La Hoya, Manny Pacquiao is one hell of a fighter, such a modest guy too, thats why i like him so much.

Pound for pound 3rd place: Joe Calzaghe, never lost as a pro so far. Joe Calzaghe does have the best boxing record out of them all. Everyone that knows boxing knows, to stay unbeaten for such a long time takes some skill, determination and focus. Joe Calzaghe has always been a true champion, when Lacy came, people thought Joe Would lose, same with Kessler, B-Hop. Joe Calzaghe always finds a way to win. He is definately one of the best in the world. People say he can't punch, but if thats the case, doesn't that make him ever better considering how far he has gone and never lost a Pro fight? And he can't even punch...

Pound for Pound 4th place is: Ricky Hatton: Everyone thought Ricky Hatton Would lose to Paulie Malignaggi, how wrong they were. I think people forget how good Ricky Hatton is, He has lost only once, to the one and only p4p number 1 - Floyd Mayweather. Ricky Hatton deserves 4th place. Ricky Hatton could be pound for pound best boxer, 1st place, if he beats Manny Pacquiao, or has a rematch with Floyd Mayweather.

Pound for Pound 5th place, in my opinion is Bernard Hopkins: Hopkins really is a throw-back, his ring craft is with out any doubt at all the best in the world. Look how old he is and he's beating young up and coming fighters like Kelly Pavlik with ease. Some people may thing his style is boring, but that's the way he fights and in my opinion he does well, you never see him cut or knocked out. Bernard Hopkins is a very very clever fighter, he does a good job in terms of what boxing is meant to be about - hit and not be hit.

I would like your opinions on who you think are the top 5 Pound for Pound boxers in the world today...Comment Below.

Carl Froch Vs Jermain Taylor

Carl Froch Vs Jermain Taylor

Well, talks are going on at the moment for Carl Froch Vs Jermain Taylor. This will be Carl Froch's first WBC Super Middle Weight Title Defense. Jermain Taylor is a good fight for Froch, no one can say he is taking the easy route as Taylor is known as a good fighter, one of best in the division.

This should be a great fight, both fighters always come to fight and are always in great shape. I would say Carl Froch is taking a step up here in terms of a higher profiled opponent, and also skill level, Jermain Taylor does have some good boxing skills and can dish out some punishment.

As we seen against Jean Pascal, Carl Froch can take some superb punches, he has good punch resistance, but i would say Jermain Taylor does hit harder then Pascal. In the Carl Froch Vs Jean Pascal fight, Carl did get caught with way too many hard punches, although he took them well, will he be able to take the same amount of punches if Jermain Taylor is the one doing the punching?, not Pascal.

Carl Froch needs to work on his defense if he wants to stand a chance against the best super middle weight fighters. I do think he will beat Jermain Taylor but he will take many solid punches doing so. Carl Froch has good punching power so i wouldn't be surprised if Carl Froch Knocks Out Taylor, let's not forget, Taylor has been Knocked out a few times, and Froch definately has the power. I would love to see Carl Froch Vs Kelly Pavlik if Carl Beats Taylor, that would be a great fight.

Carl Froch Vs Jermain Taylor should be interesting, i see Froch winning, but it could go either way. I doubt this fight will go the distance, one of them will get knocked out.

Antonio Margarito Vs Sugar Shane Mosley

Antonio Margarito Vs Sugar Shane Mosley

Antonio Margarito Vs Sugar Shane Mosley will happen on January 24th 2009. This should be an exciting fight. Antonio Margarito has been asking to fight another top name for quite some time, he finally gets his wish.

Antonio Margarito is super tough, his chin and punch resistance can be compared to a man with a head made of steel, he really takes a punch well, as he has demonstrated through out his boxing career, also lets not forget the Cotto fight, he took some serious punishment and just kept marching forward. But how will get on with Sugar Shane Mosley? Well, i think Antonio Margarito will cause Mosley many problems, you could say Margarito will beat Mosley because Cotto beat Mosley and Margarito beat Cotto. But it doesn't work like that, as we know, styles make fights, also tactics make fights, so you never know what can happen.

Sugar Shane Mosley is a great boxer-puncher. I think he will try to use the same sort of tatics that Cotto used against Margarito, the question is, will Mosley be able to keep Margarito off him for 12 rounds..I doubt it, considering Mosely is not getting any younger. So at times in this fight they will go to war, both can take hard punches, but i just think Antonio Margarito has the edge, purley because of his superior punch resistance and his terminator, come forward style. Sugar Shane Mosley could surprise people and win, but i would say Antonio Margarito will win this fight on a hard earned points victory.

I think it's good that Shane Mosley has stepped up to the plate to fight Antonio Margarito, he has been chasing the big fights for a long time, it's seemed like he has avoided by many good boxers. I think he will be very up for this fight, specially how long he has been kept waiting.

As always, may the best man win.

Martial Arts Training

Martial Arts Training

There are so many different types of Martial Arts Training, from Judo to Karate, Jiu-Jitsu, Kick Boxing, the list is very long and there are new forms of Martial Arts being introduced all the time.

However, some Martial Arts Training methods are more effective in real life situations then others. In many ways all Martial Arts can be helpful for many things, including self confidence, Inner peace, and for many other things including self defense. I would say everyone has their own martial art that they would prefer to practice, or that suits them better as a person. But if we are talking about what Martial Arts Training is the most effective against a real life, LIVE opponent, then you have to look closely.

In my opinion if you have been studying any of the Martial Arts training methods and are totally fluent in it, you should be able to use it in a real fight, but this isn't always the case.

I personally have seen a real street fight between a Judo Black Belt and a normal guy on the street, Guess Who won? The normal guy got into a clinch with the Judo Expert, but the normal guy was able to twist his body and land on top of the Judo Black Belt on the floor, after that the normal guy totally punched the face off the Judo Black Belt until he gave in.

This is just one example to teach you one thing. Never limit yourself to one type of Martial Arts Training, if you do you are going to be weak in another area.

In my opinion the best type of Martial Arts Training for use in real life situations is something that focuses on all types of fighting, ground game, stand up, and all the things in between. This Martial Arts training is known as MMA (Mixed Martial Arts), or Vale Tudo (very similar to MMA) Vale Tudo stands for "anything goes" in Portugese.

These two Martial Arts Training methods are very good in many ways, one being time, if you work and socialise, like most people do, you will find it hard to attend mutiple lessons like a boxing lesson and say a Jiu-jitsu lesson if they are on the same day or if they are on a few times a week, you might not be able to free up that many days or hours of your time. With MMA or Vale Tudo the classes focus on everything so there is only one place to attend to learn everything (in time of course). These two Martial Arts Training methods were specifically developed with being able to use them in a real life situation.

Mixed Martial Arts Training will learn you everything, ground fighting, wrestling, submissions, punching, closing the distance, this will give you the best chance, in my opinion, of being able to effectively deal with most real fight situations.

Because with the example above, in this case it's the true story of what i witnessed between a Judo Black Belt and a normal street fighter who trained in no Martial Art or Boxing. Obviously this does matter on the individuals as people, not the art, but in general you have to think, for example, with Judo they practice specific moves over and over in a controlled environment. Your not allowed to try and prevent the move being done on you, in real life there are no set rules, even in Judo sparring your not allowed to do moves that would occur in a real life fight situation, a person in a real fight will tense up and try their hardest to make you not throw them.

So how can you really practice for a real life situation using these methods? In order to practice for real life situations you have to train for them. MMA and Vale Tudo do just that.

Remember, whatever Martial Arts Training you do, never limit yourself to one style. All Martial Arts can be good in their own right but some are way more useful to know in a real life situation.

Don't think im saying Judo is no good, it is very good, but in real life Judo is slightly limited for use as an all round defense system. Doing Judo and Boxing would be much better for real life situations, but if your going to do two, it's great if you have the time to spare, if not go for MMA or Vale Tudo, you get the best of both worlds in terms of time and learning many Martial Arts rolled into one.

Manny Pacquiao Beats Oscar De La Hoya In 8 Rounds

Manny Pacquiao Beats Oscar De La Hoya In 8 Rounds

This was one of the most shocking fights i have seen in a vey long time. Manny Pacquiao Vs Oscar De La Hoya was considered by most as an easy fight for Oscar De La Hoya! Many people said Oscar is just too big and strong, no one thought about Oscar turning up and not really throwing any punches!! Well thats what happened.

Manny Pacquiao Totally dominated this fight from start to finish, it was so one sided that Oscar De La Hoya's cornermen stopped the fight at the end of the 8th round, with Oscars eye very swollen. He's face looked like he had been fighting a heavyweight.

From the start Oscar De La Hoya just wasn't throwing enough punches, looking confused with Manny Pacquiao's speed and elusive style. Manny Pacquiao was beating him to the punch on every exchange, moving in and out too quick for De La Hoya.

We all thought Oscars power would be a big factor, but the truth is he hardly connected with manny all night, and when he did Manny Pacquiao done a good job of covering up and taking the shots well, or simply moving out the way. Mannys head movement was superb.

In my honest opinion, Oscar De La Hoya did not turn up on fight night for whatever reason, either that or he is finished and should call it a day. Not taking anything away from Manny Pacquiao, he fought a perfect fight, but he wasn't tested at all.

I don't think no one expected Oscar De La Hoya to get totally dominated like that, we at least expected a more even fight. For Oscar De La Hoya to be ok with the decision to end the fight after 8 Rounds was quite sad, even his corner men said theres nothing you can do to stop Manny.

For Manny Pacquiao the future is bright, he will now almost certainly face Ricky Hatton at Wembley Stadium in London England for a super fight that will be a total sell out.

The futures not too bad for Oscar De La Hoya either, he is worth well over 100 Million dollars (that's a low estimate) and he earned round about 25-30 Million for this fight alone so hey, the Golden Boy's done good.

Im sure he will fight again at some point.

Manny Pacquiao did not get tested in this fight but im sure when he faces Ricky Hatton he will be.

Carl Froch Wins The WBC Title Over Jean Pascal

Carl Froch Wins The WBC Title Over Jean Pascal

Carl Froch Vs Jean Pascal was a superb fight. Carl Froch is now the new WBC Super Middle Weight Champion. Hats off to both Carl Froch and Jean Pascal, this fight was all action from start to finish.

Carl Froch trained so hard for this fight, he wanted that WBC belt more then anything. Well, he made his dream come true.

Every round of this fight was a trading of power punches, both fighters took some heavy punches and kept on going, so determined to win the vacant WBC Super Middle Weight Title, they both let it all hang out. There were some scarey moments for Carl Froch when he was caught by some big shots but he handled them well, Carl Froch's chin and punch resistance were tested like never before. Carl Froch handled the punches, he has a great chin, but he did get hit by way too many punches. Carls defense does need some work, if he was against a harder puncher with the amount of clean punches he got caught with he would of hit the canvas.

Now that Carl Froch is now the new WBC champion he will be facing some of the best fighters in the super middleweight division, like Kelly Pavlik, Mikel Kessler etc, so Carl Froch will have to tighten up his defense to stand a chance of defending his WBC belt.

Jean Pascal has nothing to feel ashamed about, he gave it his all and put up a great fight, but Carl Froch just seemed too determined, maybe he had the edge with the fight being in his home city of Nottingham and having all his fans and family there.

He fully deserved the win, he did not have an easy fight to win the title. Now he has to defend the title, with it being the WBC title, he will have people very eager to fight him. The WBC belt is the best and most highly regarded belt.

Martin Rogan Beats Audley Harrison On Points

Martin Rogan Beats Audley Harrison On Points

What a fight for Martin Rogan! Martin Rogan showed the heart of a lion. He fully deserved the win.

Is this the end for Audley Harrison? Whos knows, probably not knowing Audley Harrison. He has some skills, although he hardly uses them, and is lacking desire.

Martin Rogan was able to close the distance when he wanted to, and when he did, most the time he worked hard on the inside. Even on the outside he caught Audley Harrison wth some good shots. I was very impressed with Rogan, he showed true fighting spirit, he would not be denied. Martin Rogan got caught with a huge uppercut but he was able to hang on and get his head together.

Audley Harrison couldn't get his fight game going, he seemed lazy and didn't seem like he had the heart to dig deep. Audley Harrison does not like a close fight in terms of brawling, thats where he is most uncomfortable, Rogan's tactics were perfect for audley. Audley Harrison just could not find the answer to eliminate Martin Rogans heart and determination. A truely excellent fight for Martin Rogan, very impressive from the down to earth Irish man.

This was Audley Harrisons chance and he blew it, i think he should call time on his boxing career, he does not have what it takes. if he did win a world championchip belt it would be a miracle.

Amir Khan Knocks Out Oisin Fagan In Round 2

Amir Khan Knocks Out Oisin Fagan In Round 2

After a cagey 1 minute in round 1, it was all Amir Khan. You could plainly see the difference in class and i don't think this fight proved anything, the only thing it has done is give Amir Khan a little confidence boost, which he probably needed more then anything.

Oisin Fagan was just too many levels below Amir Khan in terms of skill and power. You could say Amir Khan looked better in this fight, but Oisin Fagan didn't bring anything to the table to test Khan, and basically stood straight in front of Khan, so really, we don't know. But what can we expect? This is his comeback fight after a bad knockout loss.

There were holes in Amir Khans fight game, his guard was low and do think he is lucky he was fighting Oisin Fagan, a bigger puncher with better boxing skills would of had Amir Khan in trouble. But this is early days and im sure we will see him tested more in the near future.

Fair play to Khan, he done what he had to do and beat who was put in front of him, thats all he could do. I hope he starts to fight better fighters sooner rather then later, he needs to be tested, it's not worth him lying to himself and then getting found out. Personally i am a firm beleiver in the fact that if you can't take a punch, you never will be able to, lets just hope he works on his guard more for the future.

Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan

Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan

Martin Rogan Beats Audley Harrison On Points

Well Audley Harrison is still promising big things, people just want to see him stop talking and start fighting and winning in style, then maybe people will regain some confidence in him.

Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan should be an exciting fight. Martin Rogan is a tough guy with an unbeaten record, and im sure he wants to keep it that way. Martin Rogan is the underdog in this fight, though im sure he could cause an upset and surprise many people. Having said that i think Audley Harrison will win this fight, he has much more skill then Martin Rogan and will keep the fight at distance jabbing away all night, until he wears Martin Rogan down and goes in for the kill.

Martin Rogan has bags of heart, but there's only so far that will take you. Audley Harrison has too much ring craft for Martin Rogan but if Rogan can get Audley Harrison into a brawl, he could win this.

Knowing Audley Harrison, he will win, but it will be a boring fight for the fans, unless he see's that Martin Rogan is out on his feet he might consider going for the knockout.

In some ways i think Audley Harrison has some good boxing skills, but he just doesn't deliver the goods when its needed, and he talks too much. Audley Harrison needs to keep his head down, win fights, and get in the position for a world title shot. Only after he wins a world title should he say " I told you i would do it". Until then, no ones really interested because they have heard it all from him before.

I think Audley Harrison will win this one quite easily. If he doesn't, his career will be in tatters.

Oscar De La Hoya vs Manny Pacquiao Weigh In

Oscar De La Hoya vs Manny Pacquiao Weigh In

The fight is almost upon us, Oscar De La Hoya vs Manny Pacquiao. This should be a great fight, there is so much interest in the fight. Freak show, easy win for Oscar De La Hoya, what ever you want to call it, this fight has gained total world wide interest.

Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao both look in superb shape at the weigh in. Both were comfortably within the weight limit. Oscar De La Hoya does look quite a bit bigger then Manny Pacquiao, but hey, size is not everything. If Manny Pacquiao can stick to his game plan of speed punching, in and out, hit and not be hit, he can win this fight. If he trys to trade and have a war with Oscar De La Hoya, i think he will get badly beaten. Don't get me wrong, the opposite could happen, Manny Pacquiao Could knockout Oscar De La Hoya, he does have the power and ability.

Manny Pacquiao has been sparring with guys in the gym similar to Oscar De La Hoya's style and size so he as prepared well for this fight, just as he does for any fight. No doubt this is the toughest fight of Manny Pacquiao's career. If Manny Pacquiao wins this fight, he will be looked at like superman! I wish him luck. Who ever wins this will almost certainly face Ricky Hatton, so i hope Manny Pacquiao wins as that would be a much fairer fight in terms of size.No matter who Ricky Hatton ends up fighting out of these two, it will be a sell out, most probably in England!

I do have the feeling that Oscar De La Hoya will win this fight, although Manny Pacquiao will put up a great fight, the size and strength of Oscar De La Hoya will just be a bit too much for Manny Pacquiao. I hope im wrong.

Amir Khan Vs Oisin Fagan

Amir Khan Vs Oisin Fagan

Amir Khan Knocks Out Fagan In Two Rounds...Read More.

After the devastating Knockout that Amir Khan suffered in his last fight, his managers have had to carefully pick his comeback opponent.

They have chose Oisin Fagan, who is not a bad fighter, but is not really that good either. He's actually a school teacher. One good thing about Oisin Fagan is he won't lie down, and he comes to fight.

Amir Khan really needs to win this fight, its going to be hard anyway for Amir Khan to come back now after that knockout loss, but if he loses this fight it will be near impossible for Amir Khan to come back. Amir Khan is now being trained by Freddy Roach and is sparring with Some great fighters such as Manny Pacquiao, so if he is going to become a world champion he has the best chance with this camp.

Many people are saying, Amir Khan can train and spar with the best but you can't build yourself a granite chin, this is very true, but if he can adopt a better defense and not get hit too often, he can go far, and even win a world title i think. Amir Khan has been said to be "Chinny", which i think he definately is, but how many world champions were a bit chinny? There were loads.

Amir Khan does have some good skills, it's just a shame he doesn't have good punch resistance. Will Khan be haunted by the knockout? Obviously he won't forget it. All fighters are different, some will let the knockout bother them too much, and others will become more determined to succeed because of it, so which way will Amir Khan go?, We will have to see what happens when he does get punched hard to see how he takes it. Hopefully the loss has woke Amir Khan up, he looks determined to make an impressive comeback, and i hope he does.

Amir Khan Vs Oisin Fagan should be an ok fight, but this is an easy win for Amir Khan, if it wasn't i would be surprised.

Can Boxing Help With Self Defense?

Can Boxing Help With Self Defense?

The quick answer is yes, boxing can help with self defense. Boxing is not just good for physical training, but also good for your mental state, confidence comes with boxing and the better you get, the more confident you will become. Using it in a real life fighting situation will be easier the more experienced you become.

But never forget this, using any fighting art, boxing or even martial arts in a real fight situation depends on your mental state almost 100%. It depends how "in control" you can stay when the situation is totally real. If you can't stay in control and use what you have learnt, you will just result to swinging punches with no skill what so ever. You have to stay calm and in control. If you get caught in the heat of the moment it can be a bad thing.

The key is to make the art you train in become instinct, in this case the art is boxing. If you can do this then the boxing moves will become your instinct, basically you will do it without even thinking. That's when you know you have become good, when you just react on instinct, not by having to think about what your doing or going to do.

Obviously with a huge amount of fights, there over within a few punches, which doesn't take that much thinking about. So boxing can really help with this type of fight. Boxing will train you to punch properly, turning your body into punches and putting body weight behind them, also making your punches nice and straight, keeping your chin down, not advertising your punches etc.

So yes, boxing is a good thing to learn and can definately help you out in a real life self defense situation.

Martial Arts and Boxing For Real Life Situations

Martial Arts and Boxing For Real Life Situations, Can it help you?

What can really help you when your in real need to defend yourself? This is a very heated and debatable question in many social circles, particularly in Martial Arts and Boxing circles. Everyone thinks the thing they practice is the best and they will argue about it all night.

But we don't want arguing or debates, we just want to know what is most effective in a real life situation.

Could anyone answer this question and make you fully beleive it? As we know, all fight situations are different so maybe one martial art would be better for a certain type of fight situation and perhaps Boxing skills would be better for another.

In my own experience i would say, If you have good boxing skills and are a student of Brazilian Jui-Jitsu you have the best general chance of being able to handle most fight situations.

These two fighting arts give you a good mix of stand up fighting and ground fighting, so no matter how the fight goes, you are skilled in both areas. Most fights will either be a trading of punches or a wrestling, close contact fight, so it makes sense to practice both of these as much as possible.

Many of the Martial Arts, such as Kung Fu, Aikido, Karate and so on, although good Martial Arts, don't have any answer for ground fighting, so if the fight goes to the ground all the skills are gone. The same can be said for Kickboxing and Thai Boxing, there both good Martial Arts but they don't have any ground skills at all. Wrestling is a good thing to practice that is very helpful in a real fight situation, giving you an edge if a fight goes to the ground.

The best thing you can do is make sure you do some form of stand up fighting, and also some kind of ground game like Brazilian Jui-Jitsu or Wrestling. This way you are prepared for most fight situations. Obviously if your involved in a gang fight or you are fighting more then one person at a time, you should not want to take a fight to the ground.

Manny Pacquiao Vs Oscar De La Hoya

Manny Pacquiao Vs Oscar De La Hoya

Many people are calling Manny Pacquiao Vs Oscar De La Hoya a mismatch..In some ways i think thats right, but in another way, i think this could be a great fight.

Oscar De La Hoya is 35 years old so i think if Manny Pacquiao has a chance of winning it would be at this stage of Oscar De La Hoya's career. When you look at it, there isn't really that much difference in height, its mainly the difference in weight classes they both started at in their careers, Manny Pacquiao's being much lighter.

Obviously Oscar De La Hoya's frame is much bigger then Manny Pacquiao's but don't underestimate Manny Pacquiao, he is very strong for his size and im sure he has been sparring with some big guys in the gym. I think Oscar too would have prepared very well for Manny Pacquiao by sparring with extremely fast punching guys.

Speed will play a big part in this fight, Manny Pacquiao could just have too much speed at this late stage of Oscar De La Hoya's career. But then again, if Oscar catches Manny coming in, it could be night night for Manny Pacquiao.

Will this fight be too much for Oscar De La Hoya if it goes through to the second half of the fight..As we all know, Manny Pacquiao is superfit and sets an exhausting pace which might tire Oscar out if it's not a quick 1-4 round KO fight.

Manny Pacquiao and Oscar De La Hoya are two great champions and in a way neither of them have anything to prove.

This fight has generated a lot of interest, good or bad, and that means huge money for both fighters. I do hope Manny Pacquiao wins this fight so he can face Ricky Hatton.
