Carl Froch Vs Jean Pascal

Carl Froch Vs Jean Pascal

Carl Froch Vs Jean Pascal should be an interesting fight. Styles make fights and their styles seem to have that air of "who will win" type of feeling. Carl Froch's style has always been the same, he leaves his jab hand by his side, which could be a dangerous thing to do against Jean Pascal. The hand that Carl Froch leaves by his side leaves him wide open to Jean Pascals best punch so i hope Carl knows this and keeps that hand up. Carl Froch and Jean Pascal are both good fighters, they do both have some power too.

Jean Pascal's style is quite elusive, though he does get hit, he reminds me of Floyd Mayweather slightly, obviously not as good or slick but he has similar movement. Carl Froch and Jean Pascal are both undefeated so someones 0 will go.. I am finding it hard to pick a winner for this one, it is quite an even match up and they both have good and bad qualitys. We will just have to see how they mix together on the night. I do think though, that at some point Carl Froch will get caught from an overhand right while his hand is low and we will see him tested like never before.

I do think Carl Froch has an advantage with the fight being held in his home city of Nottingham. But if Jean Pascal can keep his focus he might just win, he has all the tools, but does throw wide punches which could get him hurt. I honestly think it will matter who really wants it the most and performs on the night.

Ricky Hatton Stops Paulie Malignaggi

Ricky Hatton Stops Paulie Malignaggi In Round 11

Paulie Malignaggi's corner throw in the towel

What a great fight for Ricky Hatton! After a decent first round for Paulie Malignaggi, which he won, the rest of the fight was totally dominated by Ricky Hatton. Paulie Malignaggi took some hard shots but never gave in, so credit is due.

Ricky Hatton looked much better and lived up to what he said about putting on a good show. He looked much sharper then he has done on many of his previous fights, Floyd Mayweather Senior really looks to of done a good job so far with Ricky Hatton.

From the second round onwards you could really see the difference in strength and power between Ricky Hatton and Paulie Malignaggi, it was actually Paulie Malignaggi doing more holding!. Once Paulie Malignaggi felt the power of Hatton he kept on holding once in close, his jab was not as effective as people thought it would be, including Paulie, Ricky Hatton basically walked through it and slipped it all night. I was surprised that Ricky Hatton was actually beating Paulie Malignaggi at his own game, Boxing, and beating Paulie to the jab.

Ricky Hatton did get hit a few times but Paulie Malignaggi's lack of power just didn't really bother Ricky. Paulie Malignaggi looked scared throughout the fight, as if he never really got going, like he knew he was out of his depth. There was a difference in class and i think he seen that quite quickly in the fight, and was very hesitant to throw many punches. Ricky Hatton still has work to do on his fighting game, he was still lunging in quite a lot, which left him open to punches, and could of moved his head more.

In every round Ricky Hatton landed some hurtful punches on Paulie, this was not just taking it's toll on Paulie Malignaggi, but also his corner too, who were very concerned because he wasn't throwing punches back and did look hurt. The end of the fight came when Ricky Hatton was landing some power punches to Paulie Malignaggi in the 11th Round, his corner knew he had lost the fight and didn't want to see him take anymore punishment so Buddy Mcgirt threw in the towel.

Paulie Malignaggi was angry at this and pushed Buddy Mcgirt, he knew he had lost but he at least wanted to last till the end of the fight. Because the corner threw in the towel, this fight now goes down as a TKO, so Paulie Malignaggi's record now has a TKO (knockout loss) on it. Bad night for Paulie Malignaggi, and a career best for Ricky Hatton. He really fought well and will now be in line for a fight between the winner of Oscar DeLa Hoya and Manny Pacquiao, or even another shot at Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Ricky Hatton Vs Paulie Malignaggi Weigh In

Ricky Hatton Vs Paulie Malignaggi Weigh In

Well, Ricky Hatton Vs Paulie Malignaggi is here! Both fighters looked in excellent shape. With there being more Ricky Hatton fans from the UK then any Paulie Malignaggi fans there, all you could hear was the chants from the Ricky Hatton fans.

Paulie Malignaggi looks confident and up for this fight, him and his camp beleive they have captured this fight at the right stage of Ricky Hattons career. I do beleive this will be a tough fight for Ricky Hatton and i have my doubts on if he will win, but if he can stay focused and get past Paulie Malignaggi's great jab, he can win this fight.

Ricky Hatton Vs Paulie Malignaggi Weigh In Below

Paulie Malignaggi also has very fast hands, many beleive this will be the main problem for Ricky Hatton. I really want Ricky Hatton to win this one, if he doesn't his career is almost certainly over. I think Ricky Hatton has most of the world on his side. Not many people have warmed to Paulie Malignaggi and his brash talking ways.

One thing is for sure, who ever wins this fight is in line to face the winner of Oscar De la Hoya Vs Manny Pacquiao, which would be a dream fight for the fighters and the fans! If that fighter is Ricky Hatton, what a way to end his career, with one of the biggest fights ever!.

I like the way Ricky Hatton has composed himself for most of the build up to this fight, he hasn't really bad mouthed Paulie Malignaggi, although he did in one inteview before, but mostly he has been very respectful.

I beleive this fight could go either way. If Paulie Malignaggi keeps it at range, which he has said he's going to try to do, he will win on points. If Ricky Hatton can close the distance at will he can win this one pretty easily.

David Haye Wants Vitali Klitschko

David Haye Wants to fight Vitali Klitschko in the near future.

Out of the two Klitschko brothers David Haye has said he would prefer to fight Vitali. This is mainly because most people know he is the toughest out of the two and David Haye wants to please the fans and give the people good exciting fights, and also win the world titles. To do this he has to face both Klitschkos, they hold the belts, so why not get the toughest Klitschko out of the way first.

In my opinion, David Haye would not beat Vitali Klitschko. I just think he is too tough and can take some very heavy punishment. But this was a fair few years ago, so what about now? When Vitali Klitschko fought Lennox Lewis he was more in his prime, so could David Haye now take advantage of Vitali's lack of fights over the last few years and beat him? We might just find out soon enough, that is if Vitali Klitschko wins his next fight.

The Klitschko brothers are good boxers, obviously they are huge guys that are good behind there jab, it's hard to get to them and land punches, so they are a test for all the heavyweights.

People are already saying that David Haye would beat Wladimir Klitschko, but im not so sure. I think that would be a good fight, but i honestly think Wladimir Klitschko would beat him. Wladimir does have a boring style, but it wins fights. It would be hard for David Haye to close the distance i think. If David Haye can get past the Jab-Move-Type style of Wladimir Klitschko he stands a good chance of winning. I just get the feeling that will be harder to do then David Haye thinks, with either of the Klitschko's, harder but not impossible.

The fights between David Haye and the Klitschko brothers have to happen, plainly because there is no promoters demanding big money. All these fighters control themselves and are free to fight who they want, where they want.

Should be interesting and i would like David Haye to win, it would bring some excitement back to Heavyweight Boxing.

Do you think David Haye can beat the Klitschko brothers? Comment Below.

British Boxing

How Good is British Boxing?

At the moment i think British Boxing is on a high. We have shot through the ranks lately and have some great fighters. The USA have seen this recently in the name of Joe Calzaghe, thats just mentioning one. David Haye is another British Boxer that springs to mind. Not too long ago British Boxing was on the decline, but in a change of events, it's now the state of USA's boxing that is alarming everyone.

British Boxing now has a decent prospect for a Heavy Weight Title (David Haye). We Have arguably one of the best fighters for many many years (Joe Calzaghe). Lets not forget Ricky Hatton, he may of lost to Floyd Mayweather, but there is no shame in that. Floyd Mayweather is the best in the world. Ricky Hatton is still a force and is definately one of the key players in the elite team of British Boxing.

We also have Amir Khan, he may be chinny, but how many chinny fighters have won world titles? There are quite a few. I do beleive Amir Khan needs to learn a lot more, which he has time to do. He has some good trainers and sparring partners around him at the moment, which can only improve his talent and ability, i think he could become a good fighter that could be a king pin for future British Boxing. He has the talent no doubt.

Lets not forget about Carl Froch, i think Carl Froch has some good skills. He has some testing times ahead, but i think Carl will establish himself as a great fighter in years to come.

This is only a few of the already established British Boxers, there are so many up and coming British Boxers at the moment, i think British Boxing has a bright future.

Ricky Hatton Vs Paulie Malignaggi

Ricky Hatton Vs Paulie Malignaggi At The MGM Grand

Ricky Hatton takes on Paulie Malignaggi on Saturday 22nd November.

Ricky Hatton looks in superb shape. He really looks better then i have ever seen him before. He seems to have found a new confidence, which is just what he needed. I was watching Hatton on the pads with Floyd Mayweather Senior and he looked great. Ricky Hatton always needed to sharpen up a bit in my opinion, he has always been a 'jump in face first type fighter', now he seems to be using his brain more. Floyd Mayweather Senior will bring out the best in Ricky Hatton im sure.

There is a little battle between the two camps. Floyd Mayweather Senior trains Ricky Hatton, and Buddy Mcgirt is training Paulie Malignaggi. These are two of the best boxing trainers and both trainers think there fighter is going to win. They also Both have specific tactics to ensure there fighters win easily so this should be interesting. One of them will be wrong, there will only be one winner..

Some of the top boxing writers and even active boxers are saying that Paulie Malignaggi could win this one. His style will be too much for Ricky Hatton. This is a fight between a brawler and a good boxer, but i think if Ricky Hatton can use what he has learnt from Floyd Mayweather Senior and take his time, pick his punches, he should win.

Street Fight - Can You Defend Yourself?

Street Fight - Can You Defend Yourself?

In general, street fights unfold in a few certain ways. Theres either an extremely quick knockout, loads of swinging punches between the two fighters, or the fight goes to the ground after a while. Street fights are very unfair in some ways, they take no prisoners. The feelings that go through your mind and body when you know you have to fight can be scarey. You feel shakey and weak, not forgeting nervous. Your adrenaline takes over. These feelings are actually helping you, although it may not seem like it at the time.

This is your bodys way of preparing you for a fight or battle of some kind, so don't be scared of it. Everyone feels like this, or has done at some point. These feelings can be controlled, you can use them to your advantage. The fear factor can save you, keep you alert. If you do a Martial Art of some kind, or boxing, you don't feel the same scared feeling, your still nervous but in a different, more prepared kind of way. You feel more alert towards the situation rather then really shakey and scared. This nervous feeling can be overcome with the right mindset, no problem.

Like i have said before, the more you practice fighting, whether it be Boxing sparring or Martial Arts etc, you will be much more at ease when you know a fight is going to happen, rather then it be totally alien to you. It's the same with anything in life, a new job, after a while you get more experienced and become able to do your job better.

If you keep on feeding and working on the thing your scared of, throwing yourself into the fire, you will become so used to it, that after a while it becomes second nature. We are creatures of habit. In order to conquer anything you have to face it full on. The more you face it, the more you become less fearful of it. So then a fight doesn't seem that scarey anymore and it's down to the fact that by training in boxing or martial arts, your confidence has out grown your fear and you know you can defend yourself.

Always try to stay out of a street fight, they are bad news and should be avoided if possible. Never set out to learn to fight just for the purpose of fighting for no reason, just because you know you can. You will never find inner peace, or make many friends this way.

Avoiding a fight should be at the top of your list, but if it can't be avoided, you have to know how to defend yourself, because at some point, it will be needed.

Fighting and Stamina

Fighting and Stamina - Can You Defend Yourself?

Fighting is the same as most things, if you want to be good, you have to practice. You have to go over the same moves again and again, making sure you master them all to perfection, but this is not all you have to do. One of the most important things that can win a fight or lose a fight is fitness and stamina.Without this, it doesn't matter how much you practice a particular move or punch combination, If you don't do any fitness training at all like running, sparring, bag work, press ups etc, the chances are, you will get tired very quickly in a real fight. Fitness and stamina can be the difference between losing and winning, or even life and death

You can have one guy that has no power in his punches at all but has good stamina, and another guy who is really powerful but gets tired really quick. If the guy with no power can weather the early storm, after a while the powerful guy will tire. Then the weaker guy will become effective because he has better stamina. This is a very important thing to remember. Obviously, when you get into a street fight, Adrenaline will take over to begin with, but what if the person your fighting is quite a good fighter and you start to feel the strain and become tired? You need to have some stamina. And never forget, in a real fight, every punch you throw or every grapple you get into with your opponent is even more tiring because you tense up and use much more strength and energy because your scared for your own safety.

Fighting and Stamina - Can You Defend Yourself?

Grappling / Wrestling in a real fight is very energy sapping. You can be really fit, but if you don't practice some form or wrestling / grappling, you will be nackered afer 5 mintues. Keeping yourself in good shape is the best option.

Try to keep yourself fit. Make sure you do some form of fitness and stamina training quite regular. Needless to say, we all go through times where we slack off here and there, even i do. But as a whole, try to fit some training into your weekly schedule at least 3 times a week. You don't need to kill yourself everytime until you can't breath, but make sure you get a decent sweat on. Do a really hard training session once a week. Don't do what i am saying here if your overweight or have any medical condition, but if your in decent shape, then training moderately 3 times a week should be fine.

Remember, YOU know your own body and limits better then anyone else. So always listen to your body. Don't over do it, specially to begin with. Get your body used to regular training before doing any hard training sessions. The last thing you want, or i want, is for you to become injured or worse.

Ricky Hatton Vs Paulie Malignaggi

Ricky Hatton Vs Paulie Malignaggi

There is not long to wait now for the Ricky Hatton Vs Paulie Malignaggi fight.

I think this could be a tough fight for Ricky Hatton because of Paulie Malignaggi's style. He has great boxing skills, very slick and very sharp. Those types of fighters have always troubled Ricky Hatton. Hopefully, with Ricky Hatton now teamed up with Floyd Mayweather Senior, he has learnt some new skills and sharpened up more. Ricky Hattons last two performances weren't very good, and he even admits that himself.

But for this fight he has been much more dedicated and really seems up to the job. Floyd Mayweather Senior is without doubt one of the best trainers in the world, but can you teach an old dog like Ricky Hatton new tricks? I think you can if the old dog wants it bad enough, and i think Ricky Hatton Does.

Ricky Hatton Vs Paulie Malignaggi has all the makings for a great fight. Paulie Malignaggi is much tougher then he looks too. He took a good beating from Miguel Cotto, and although he lost that fight, many people had respect for him because he lasted the whole fight and took some seriously hard punches. So we know Paulie Malignaggi can take a beating, and with his slick boxing style, he could be hard work for Ricky Hatton.

No matter which way the fight goes, i think it will be a tough fight for both fighters. Personally I am a Ricky Hatton fan, so i hope he wins, and wins in style. But i must say, i think if Ricky Hatton does lose to Paulie Malignaggi, he will retire.

I hope Ricky Hatton hasn't jinxed himself by talking bad about Paulie Malignaggi, not in this press conference but at an earlier interview. The only other time he has talked bad about another fighter was the match up with Floyd Mayweather Junior, and look what happened then..

I hope im wrong..Good luck Hitman.

Here is what Ricky Hatton had to say at the Press Conference. Ricky Hattons a great fighter and a great guy.

How To Defend Yourself

How To Defend Yourself

Need To Defend Yourself? Remember These Tips

Well, I would say most males would love to be good fighters. Sadly or maybe luckily, not all males have that fighting gene. But that doesn't mean you can't defend yourself, or learn to defend yourself.

Firstly, if you want to be able to defend yourself against being hit in the face, you have to be aware of the shot coming, if your not, your most probably going to get knocked out. Like the old, and very true saying goes, the punches that knock you out are the ones you don't see coming. If you are aware your going to get hit and see it coming, your body automatically tenses up and protects you, gets you ready for an impact.

So never forget, always stay alert when you know a fight situation is within arms length. People love to get the first punch in, and if your standing within range to be hit, you better be prepared. Don't stand in range and just try to talk it through. Keep your distance, if they want to get close to you back off a step or two, keep the distance there, and only close that distance if you know your going to fight or if you know the situation has been fully sorted out. If i know there is an argument or disagreement that cold turn nasty, I am NEVER in distance to be hit.

Also, never forget, a moving target is much harder to hit then a still one. If someone goes to hit you and you just slightly move your head either down or side to side, they have a good chance of not connecting properly. Same with your arms and hands. If you get used to having them up by your face in a fight, they will most definately save you from being hit flush in the face. Most people that on the street will use hooks, if you have your arm(s) up, almost in the position as if your using a mobile phone, but bring your elbow round and forearm round to cover the side of your face more. You have an excellent chance of blocking the hook with this type of arm position. So then you take the punch on the arms and not in the face.

Just remember, never let your guard down when you know a fight could take place.

Alcohol is such a bad thing when fighting, you will forget about keeping your arms up and your wits about you, forget about the distance and end up swinging punches like a crazy man. This is when you lose your fighting skills that would save you and you go to the "average guys" level. Make sure you don't go there. Don't drink too much!

To defend yourself you need to be able to think clearly, and drinking alcohol does the total opposite.

Coming In 2009: David Haye vs Goliath I & II

Coming In 2009: David Haye vs Goliath I & II

After demolishing Monte Barrett in 5 Rounds David Haye talks about taking on the Klitschko brothers in 2009.

I think the Klitschko's will be a much harder nights work then what Monte Barrett was. David Haye will have his work cut out. The Klitschko style may be boring but it is very effective. I get the feeling David Haye would lose to the Klitschko brothers, i hope im wrong. For what David Haye lacks in defence, he more then makes up for with power, so he stands a change against any of the decent heavyweights out there.

But let's not forget this is the heavyweight division and one punch can change any fight. I think Vitali Klitschko would be too much for David Haye, he can take some serious punishment, like he showed in the Lennox Lewis fight, and can take David Haye into the later rounds, where David Haye is not comfortable and lacks stamina. That could be interesting.

Vitali Klitschko can see holes in David Hayes fight game and i think he wants to get there first to take advantage of them holes.

Brock Lesnar Stops Randy Couture - UFC

Brock Lesnar Stops Randy Couture - UFC

The New UFC Heavyweight Champion - Brock Lesnar

Randy Couture gets stopped in the second round of his UFC Heavyweight title fight against wrestling star Brock Lesnar. Brock Lesnar looked huge next to Randy Couture, it was like a school boy fighting a grown man. Brock Lesnars strength was just too much for Randy Couture to handle.

The first round was cagey, much fighting along the fence where Randy Couture was trying to lean on Brock to tire him out, which did seem to work a little, but you could see the difference in power between the two. Brock Lesnar is a seriously huge powerful guy!

The second round was a trading of punches where Brock Lesnar Caught Randy Couture with a glancing shot on the site of the head which dropped Randy to the floor, straight away Brock Lesnar was on him hammering away at Randy Coutures face with the side of his hand. There was just way too many shots coming in for Randy to think about how to defend against it. The referee did give Randy Couture a chance to recover, but with so many unanswered punches(Hammer Fists!), There was no choice but to stop the fight.

I must say, i really wanted Randy Couture to win. Fair play to Randy, he took the defeat like a real experienced fighter and did not make any excuses. I just feel with a guy like Brock Lesnar, a wrestler with so little experience in UFC, he should not of had a title shot so soon. But hey, he won fair and square. So Brock Lesnar is the NEW UFC Heavyweight Champion. But if im honest, i hope not for long. I just don't like the fact the he has come from a fake wrestling background and won the UFC heavyweight Title!

The best man won on the night and i think Brock Lesnars size and strength alone could put any fighter in trouble.

David Haye Knocks Out Monte Barrett In Round 5

David Haye Knocks Out Monte Barrett In Round 5

Well, Monte Barrett gets knocked out in round 5 after being knocked down in earlier rounds numerous times.

Monte Barrett looked very slow on his feet and was swinging wildly. But he deserves a lot of credit as he showed a lot of heart, he stood in there for longer then many expected. Monte Barrett showed great heart and give it his best shot, which was no where near enough to beat David Haye.

I think David Haye looked pretty tired and should work on his defense, he seemed quite open to punches. David Haye still hasn't been tested punch wise, so the question still looms, can David Haye take heavyweight punches? Time will tell.

In my opinion, if Monte Barrett could of gone for a few more rounds he could of give David Haye some trouble as David Haye seemed to tire quickly.

The main thing for David Haye is getting the win, and winning in style, and he did do that. So it's on to the next step for David Haye on his Heavyweight Champion chip dream.

UFC Randy Couture Vs Brock Lesnar

Randy Couture Vs Brock Lesnar UFC

So many people are saying Brock Lesnar will destroy Randy Couture. But let's not forget, Brock Lesnar doesn't have that much experience with the UFC and real fighting.

Brock Lesnar is a super strong guy no doubt, but Randy Couture has a lot of experience and is very good at his all round fight game. I think this fight will be interesting if it goes to the ground (which im sure it will at some point), there both superb wrestlers and both Brock Lesnar and Randy Couture have excellent take downs. I think this fight is a 65% to 35% in Randy Coutures favor. Just because of the experience advantage. I think it matters what type of fight Randy Couture makes it.

Brock Lesnar is such a strong guy, if he can get past the first and second rounds, he has a good chance of winning-but you can never right off one of the best UFC fighters ever! Randy Couture! I think Randy Couture will win..Let's see what happens , May the best man win.

David Haye Vs Monte Barrett Weigh-In

David Haye Vs Monte Barrett Weigh-in

Well then, not long to wait now for David Haye Vs Monte Barrett.

David Haye Vs Monte Barrett is live on setanta tommorrow night (Saturday 15th November)

Both fighters looked in superb shape at the weigh-in, no insults were traded, and there was no trouble. After a lengthy stare down, they both went their seperate ways, looking forward to the fight.

It Should be a good fight. There has been some bad blood regarding food expenses and the space in Monte Barretts hotel room etc, so hopefully he's angry and will put on a good show. I hope all his moaning isn't because he's scared he might lose so he's making some excuses early.. Only time will tell.

David Haye vs Monte Barrett

David Haye vs Monte Barrett -15th November 2008

Has David Haye bitten off more then he can chew?

Monte Barrett is definately the gate keeper of the heavyweight division and i think he could give David Haye alot of trouble. The thing with Monte Barrett is, it depends which Monte Barrett turns up on fight night. He could turn up and just get knocked out straight away, or he could either give David Haye the hardest 12 rounds of his career or even knock David Haye out in the first round. That's how unpredictable he is. One thing is for sure, he is no push over.

David Haye vs Monte Barrett should be an exciting fight. David Haye has a suspect chin at lower weight classes, so at heavyweight he could be in serious trouble. David Haye says he will be too fast for the heavyweights but i think at some point in a 12 round fight you will get caught with a shot somewhere in the night, the question is what will happen when he does get caught with a flush punch.

To be honest, i hope David Haye wins, and i think he has the ability to do so.

In the final press conference Monte Barrett is not happy and says David Haye and his team are doing petty things to throw him off his game, such as a small hotel room, small amount of money for food each day etc.

With all this bad talk, it makes the fight more exciting. David Haye has talked the talk and has a lot to live up to. Let's see if he can produce the goods.

Goodluck Mr. Haye.

Joe Calzaghe, The best European Fighter?

Is Joe Calzaghe the best European Fighter?

I think Joe Calzaghe probably is the best European fighter, what other boxer in recent years has acheived what Joe has?

Will Joe Calzaghe now retire after beating two legends, Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones. I hope the temptation to keep on fighting isn't too much. Being 46-0 and undefeated in 18 years! This is a great record and i think he should retire and keep that superb record intact.

Joe Calzaghe is now in the record books with the all time greats, being one of a handful of boxers to retire undefeated. That's IF he retires now. He has nothing more to prove and i think no matter who he fight and beats, the American press will always have some angle to make the win look less of a victory then it was, something like, the fighter was too old, or too green etc.

Joe Calzaghe is not superman and if he keeps on fighting he will lose. Age catches up with everyone.

Joe Calzaghe Beats Roy Jones At The Garden

Joe Calzaghe Beats Roy Jones At Madison Square Garden

Joe Calzaghe Wins On Points

Joe Calzaghe remains unbeaten. After being knocked down in the first round from a good punch, he got off the canvas to mostly dominate the fight. Although Roy Jones did land some good punches, there just wasn't enough of them and his work rate just couldn't match up to Joe Calzaghes.

I must admit, i was scared for Joe Calzaghe in the first round, i thought it was all over. But his warrior heart would not allow that. Roy Jones definately looked like a 40 year old fighter. He just didn't throw enough and most the time was prepared to just cover up and take Joe Calzaghes shots.

A number of times Joe Calzaghe was just standing in front of Roy Jones with his hands down by his sides! I couldn't beleive it, i really thought he was crazy for doing that.

No one can dispute the decision, Joe Calzaghe won fair and square. I hated all the showboating from Joe Calzaghe, it was uncalled for, but he was in fight mode so he was on his game, and that's what he does sometimes. I do think it showed a little disrespect to Roy Jones, i thought Roy Jones was going to catch him with a knockout punch as he was showboating, he did catch him, but he didn't do that much damage. Joe Calzaghe took Roy Jones's punches well.

I honestly think that both Joe Calzaghe and Roy Jones should now retire. They are both great champions and have both had their time at the top of the sport. I think if Joe Calzaghe carrys on fighting, he will lose his unbeaten run. Roy Jones too, he will never get back to his youth, those days are now behind him. Roy Jones's footwork and stamina just aren't what they used to be.

Will they get it on again? There are already reports that they are considering it. If they do fight again it is just about the money. Joe Calzaghe said he wants to retire unbeaten, if he retires now he will, if he carrys on, i have the feeling he will lose his unbeaten record. Maybe not to Roy Jones but to someone else.

Be smart and retire Joe, you haven't got too many big fights left in you. You got nothing left to prove.

Roy Jones just call it a day, you had a great reign at the top and will always be remembered as one of the best ever, isn't that enough?

Joe Calzaghe Vs Roy Jones

Joe Calzaghe Vs Roy Jones

There seems to be little interest in this fight. People are saying it's a fake. Fans are saying Roy Jones is well past his best and this is more of an exhibition match. I really don't think they should right Roy Jones off. Roy Jones is one of the best boxers of the last 8-10 years. Joe Calzaghe and Roy Jones are both not spring chickens anymore, the only difference bettween the two is Joe Calzaghe has never lost or been knocked out. I think this could be a great fight, it's a shame this fight did not happen like 5-7 years ago, if it would have, Joe Calzaghe would of lost. Roy Jones was Mr. Unstoppable in them days.

Ticket sales for this boxing match have been really slow because of the credit crunch and the lack of interest in the match up. Joe Calzaghe has never got the credit he deserved throughout his career, he has been a good boxer but never traveled and conquered America early in his career.

The weigh in did not allow any fans to be present!

I think Joe Calzaghe seems a bit concerned about this fight. He doesn't seem the same mentally..Maybe he has always known Roy Jones has better skillls and he hopes he has caught him at the right stage of his career-at the END!

Here is what the Pro's say:

Who Wins?

Former two-division World Champ Bernard Hopkins ( who has lost to both Calzaghe and Jones) thinks, Roy Jones by a unanimous because of his speed and power.

Ricky Hatton, ex-Welterweight World Champion said: "Roy's seen better days, Joe will be too fast and will outbox Roy Jones".

Peter Manfredo thinks Joe Calzaghe on points as he doesn't hit hard enough to knockout Roy Jones.

Former Heavy Weight Champion Lennox Lewis said: Roy Jones has superb speed, Joe Calzaghe's never fought anyone like him - Roy Jones to win on points.
TEN-TIME World Champion Oscar De La Hoya says: Joe Calzaghe is going to close the door on Roy Jones's career.

Personally i hope Joe Calzaghe wins, but you can never right off one of the best boxers ever! Roy Jones. May the best man win!.

Mike Tyson Today

Mike Tyson Today

In my opinion Mike Tyson is one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time. Forget about all his anticts and mood swings. The raw ability that Mike Tyson had was immense. When he was in his prime he was unstoppable. Mike Tyson still holds the record for the youngest heavyweight champion in the history of the sport. Even the great Muhammad Ali said that tyson was the best, he even said he thought Tyson would of beaten him. When Tyson was young and had good influences around him, people like cus d amato, Jim Jacobs, Kevin Rooney, Teddy Atlas. This was when Tyson was at his best.

Tyson was a hero to most in his early days, even me. The excitement of watching a Tyson fight was unbeleivable. He immediately trys to knock the other guy out! You can't take those early days away from him and i think a lot of people think that too, and that's why so many people still love and respect him today, no matter what bad things he has done. Tysons biggest error is his mental state and how easy he was to be brainwashed. Robin Givens, Don King and many others changed tyson. They bred hate, Don King turned him racist by saying being black is bad and went on about slavery and how the white man has been screwing blacks over for hundreds of years.. This was all just to get Tyson on his side so he could have control over him and the money earned from his fights. And it worked.

After this period in Mikes life he was never the same fighter, although he did have some great wins. But he was so mixed up mentally, people just seemed to want him for what he had, he didn't know who was genuine and who wasn't.

In that respect i feel sorry for Tyson. I know that a lot of things Tyson did, like biting Evander Holyfields ear for one is his fault and he brings it on himself. But how can you expect someone who's had Tysons life to act normal.? All Tyson knew was Chaos. He had no real friends.

In some ways you got to feel for the guy.

The whole point of this post was regarding Tyson as he is today. I was quite saddened when i watched an up to date video on him earlier today, he seemed as if he was on medication. Very quiet and very calm, but too much, like he had been drugged. He just didn't seem the same.

I really hope Tyson can find some peace at this stage of his life and be surrounded by true people that genuinely care for him. I wish you well Mike.

Tyson is definately in the top ten greatest from ALL eras of heavyweight boxing, No doubt.

Knowing you can fight

 Knowing You Can Fight

For me, i always feel better when i know i can defend myself if needed. It makes me feel calmer. Knowing that i can fight makes me not need to fight.

Throughout my life i have had times where i am actively training daily. It's rare i will go a week without doing some sort of training. I am a modest guy, but friends are always telling people about me, which is a nice feeling but can make me feel embarrassed at the same time. But if im honest I have always been very strong and could always out-last anyone i trained with. The more people i train with, the more i think that how strong or able you are depends a lot on your genetic makeup (genes). Sure, you can be weak and train to be stronger, but you will never really get much more stronger, no matter how much you train. You then need to work on your mental state.

I don't want to leave out how important being in the right mindset is, specially for fighting and defending yourself. Let's say that on one side you have 1 guy, not a street kid-never in trouble and has a nice family etc etc.

On the other side you have a guy that's in trouble all the time. Knows the street mentality. A guy that will ask you what your looking at if you stare at him for longer then 3 seconds (very childish)

Who do you think will win in a fight? I would bet you money that on average, the street kid would win without a fight even taking place. Intimidation would be all that is needed.

This is just an example of different mindsets but it makes you think. In order to be able to fight, you need to have some sort of fighting mentality. This is where training really can help you.

I would bet you money that if the nice guy in the example knew jui-jitsu, he would be 10 times less easily intimidated by tought talk and would have the confidence to stand up to the bully.

Training does give you the edge. It builds within you an inner confidence which makes you able to either rise above a situation (and not feel a fool) Or deal with a situation that would of been too much for you in the past.

Anyway what im saying is get your ass down to the gym or dojo. You can feel much higher from martial arts and boxing then you can from any drugs. And trust me i know. I have been on both sides. Luckily for me, the drugs and bad habits are all in the past. I live a clean life free from drugs and continue to study martial arts to this day.

I Don't Want To Fight - Do You Have A Choice?

I Don't Want To Fight

Many, if not all of us would rather not fight. The thought alone of trading blows with another person scares a lot of people. But what happens if you need to fight. What do you do if you have to fight? To defend yourself or a loved one? Would you fight. Or would you flight.

Personally i feel that EVERYONE should have some fighting skills, even people that have never had a fight in their lives, because at some point it catches up with you and at some stage YOU will have to fight. And when that day comes, if you don't perform like you thought you would then your going to question yourself. And think, if only i knew how to fight. Many of these type of people are the ones that join a Martial Arts school or Boxing Gym for a few months, until the shame of what happened to them wears away..Then they stop going. And they forget how much they needed the knowledge and clearness of mind to react accordingly in a fight situation- until the next time something happens and their not prepared to deal with it. Then the same questions go over in their mind. Then they want to learn how to fight again, until it wears off again.

With the world getting worse, if you ever needed to know how to defend yourself, IT's NOW.

So many unprovoked attacks, gangs , skitszos running around. I know what your thinking, these days loads of people carry weapons, knifes, guns! etc. But i tell you this, if you are in good shape and do something like boxing, brazilian jiu jitsu, judo, wrestling or any other fighting art, you are much much more able to deal with a weapon attack then if you do no training at all..Doing a fighting art puts your mental state much higher then someone that doesnt. You think more quickly and clearly. Your reaction time is much quicker, way more confident. You can see if trouble is going to start much quicker and try to avoid it before it happens. To be continued.
