Chris Weidman Beats Anderson Silva

Once again the fight ends in a strange way. The first time Silva was clowning and got knocked out and now Anderson Silva breaks his leg ( Shin Bone ) in the second round when the low kick he tried to land got blocked by Weidmans knee. It was a nasty break. On the replay you can actually see Silva's leg get folded in half. Anderson Silva was also rocked in the first round by a punch while in the clinch. The punch seemed to wobble Silva and take away his legs. Weidman followed up with some heavy ground and pound but Silva managed to survive.

In all honesty, Silva didn't look that good in the fight and it made me think that Father time has maybe caught up with him. It reminds me of the Roy Jones Jr situation. He was untouchable in his prime just like Anderson but then as he got older and remained in the sport he just wasn't the same anymore. Silva should retire. The leg break is potentially a career ending injury anyway, which could take years to heal properly,  so it seems like the right time for Anderson to retire. Would Silva even feel confident throwing a kick again at full power if he was to return in a year or so.

Sadly, I doubt Anderson Silva will ever be the same fighter after tonight. But no doubt, if he did retire he would go down as one of the best MMA fighters ever so he has nothing to be ashamed of. It was a good night of fighting. The best fight was Rousey Vs Tate. The Judo throws stole the show. Shame the night had to end with a freak accident.

Good performance by Weidman who remains UFC Champion and a sad night for Anderson Silva and his fans.

Amir Khan Does Not Deserve Mayweather

I'm not saying that Amir Khan isn't a good fighter. He is a good fighter. But Amir Khan does not deserve a shot at Mayweather Jr. There are guys in and around the same weight division that are much more deserving. Whether Khan would give Mayweather a good fight is not even relevant. The fact of the matter is that Amir Khan got destroyed by Danny Garcia. Then after that knockout loss he decided to take a warm up fight against Julio Diaz, which was meant to make Amir Khan look impressive, and still Khan looked terrible.

He was even knocked down in the forth round and was fairly lucky to get the win. If Diaz would have been a puncher it's possible that Khan would have been stopped again. And now, with a year out of the ring your telling me he is worthy of a Mayweather fight..What is happening to boxing. We all know that it's a business but it's getting to the stage where it ALL seems to be about business. Usually a fighter would have to Earn a shot at the big time by taking on the top fighters and winning the fights in impressive fashion. Khan has not been doing that.

Danny Garcia and Timothy Bradley are much more deserving for a fight with Mayweather. Even Marcos Maidana or Manny Pacquiao (if both sides can agree terms) are more deserving then Amir Khan. And they would all still be big fights in the USA, generating a huge amount of money. I guess we'll have to see what happens within the next few weeks to see if Khan Vs Mayweather is going ahead. Make no mistake it would be a massive fight in the USA or the UK, but regardless of anything else, a fighter should have to earn a shot, not be handed a shot because it makes sense financially.

I mean, How much money does Mayweather actually need. Surely, even if by fighting Amir Khan Mayweather earned a few million more then if he faced the other fighters mentioned, shouldn't Mayweather actually want to fight the best. If he does hes not doing so by facing Khan in his next fight. Maybe he wants another easy nights work..But doesn't this spell danger for Mayweather. With Khan looking terrible in his last few fights, If Mayweather fights Khan and doesn't stop him, knock him down like Diaz did in the last fight, or Khan does much better then expected, won't that be a negative for Mayweather. People will be saying, Well Garcia stopped Khan, Diaz dropped him, but Mayweather couldn't do sh*t with him.

Or maybe that's what he want's in order to look vulnerable so to set up a huge fight with one of the fighters mentioned here such as Garcia with people thinking it's more evenly matched because Mayweather got the win against Khan but didn't look very good doing it. So in turn it makes even more money. Who knows for sure. Time will tell. Truth is, Mayweather would be too fast for Garcia but he is still much more deserving of sharing the ring with Mayweather then his old knockout victim Khan is.Amir Khan should fight Kell Brook. That would be a good fight which is what a lot of the UK fight fans want to see because there is some genuine rivalry between Khan and Brook. It would also do well money wise.

ALEX ARIZA KICKS FREDDIE ROACH!

Things got heated when Freddy Roach asked the Garcia camp to clear the gym because it was Pacquiao's time to train. After arguing, Alex Ariza front kicked Freddy Roach and things get pretty heated. People are saying Freddy Roach started it by using bad language and being disrespectful when asking them to leave. Also, people are saying he was being racist. Who do you think started it? Was there really any need to make fun of Freddy's illness. This is the full fight video. The Pacquiao Rios fight is finally here. I wasn't really interested in the fight to be honest but now I am eager to see how the fight goes. Enjoy the video.

Gennady Golovkin - Curtis Stevens Face Off

GGG Seems destined for big things. If he can get past Stevens he will hopefully be taking on some of the best fighters and raking in some big pay cheques. However, other then facing Sergio Martinez at middleweight, he may have to move up in weight to do so. The likes of Carl Froch and Andre Ward are big fights for GGG at super middleweight and could happen if all goes well.

Wladimir Klitschko Beats Povetkin

In one of the dirtiest fights Ive ever seen Klitschko partake in he manages to beat Povetkin on Points. Povetkin was down numerous times in the fight but only one was a genuine knock down. The other times were Wladimir literally throwing Povetkin to the floor. Klitschko did whatever he had to do to win this fight. The holding down of Povetkin's head and leaning all over him when the two came together was terrible. Povetkin was coming in low but something should have been done by the referee. I'm surprised more points weren't taken away from Klitschko. Credit where it's due, Klitschko landed some impressive combinations and his footwork was excellent. Great jabs and lead right hands. And in particular, one short crisp left hook that sent Povetkin to the canvas.

So all in all it was a good performance by Wladimir. However, Povetkin deserves a lot of credit for this fight. He didn't stop trying to land the big overhand punches even when the fight looked out of reach. Povetkin showed great heart. At one point he was down three times in one round, but the legitimacy of the knockdowns was very questionable. I felt a bit sorry for him because of how dirty Klitschko was being. If Klitschko would have been warned more about leaning on Povetkin and generally fighting dirty, using forearms etc, who knows what effect that could have had on this fight.Wladimir Klitschko wins and did look a to be in a higher class to Povetkin, but in the process he fought the dirtiest fight of his career.

David Haye Vs Tyson Fury Is Off

Yes you read correct. Haye Vs Fury has been cancelled. David Haye has sustained a deep cut over his eye while sparring for his fight against Tyson Fury. The cut needed 6 stitches. What the hell was Haye doing sparring so close to the fight wearing no head guard and seemingly going full steam ahead. It has come to light that he was wearing a head guard but regardless of that, shouldn't he have been past the sparring stage with a week to go before the fight. With a week to go until a huge fight most boxers would not risk sparring. Fair enough, some boxers do spar close to a fight with no problems. But the Haye Fury fight is classed as a mega fight and he should not have risked a heavy handed sparring session that close to the fight. Accidents do happen and now the fight is off.

Where does this leave Tyson Fury..What about all the money on the table, there's millions on the line. Not to mention all the disappointed fans. Hopefully, a decent heavyweight can take Hayes place and the night can still go ahead. It's not what people want to see but at least the event still goes ahead. I can't help but feel a bit angry at Haye for being so unprofessional. Get one of Haye's sparring partners for the Fury fight, Deontay Wilder, and let him fill David Hayes place. He is in the UK right now and he has had a fair amount of sparring. Fury Vs Wilder would be a good fight and I think the fans would want to see it.

Can Tyson Fury Beat David Haye

This is the type of fight that British boxing needs right now. A fight that captures the publics attention and a fight that everyone wants to see. If Haye loses this fight he is finished. Haye has fought at world level for a long time and is a former two weight world champion. So if he loses to Fury it would most probably be the end of his career. Unless he could get a rematch and end up winning. For Tyson Fury this is the fight that will determine where he is the heavyweight division. Is he word class? Or is he what most people think he is, a domestic to European level fighter that just doesn't have the ability to truly dent the world scene. And then there's the magnitude of big fights. Can Fury handle all the pressure that comes with it. There's a lot riding on this fight against Haye. Every things on the line. We don't yet know how Fury can perform under such pressure against a dangerous opponent like Haye.

Fans along with people involved in boxing are very mixed regarding the outcome of this fight. While many are backing David Haye to win this fight by knockout some are saying that if Tyson Fury can get this fight past the first 5 rounds he stands a really good chance of at least making it a much more competitive match. Who knows, he could even go on to win it. But there's one thing that Tyson Fury lacks that will most probably prevent this from happening. Focus. Tyson Fury has terrible focus when it comes to sticking to a game plan for the whole fight. A good example of a fighter with excellent focus is Wladimir Klitschko. He can stick to a particular style and game plan for an entire fight. That's one of the reasons when he's so hard to beat. Of course fitness, skill and ability all have a very important role as well.

But in this case I think it's true that Haye does get tired after 5 or 6 rounds and regardless of Tyson's ability, which I still think is lacking in many areas, he does have a tremendous heart and will to win. He's great in the trenches and has the survivor mentality. He will have to be totally unable to continue for him to get stopped by knockout. With Hayes power that's an outcome that's very possible, but if Fury boxes clever behind a jab, uses his weight to tire out the smaller man, stays focused and defensively minded for the entire fight he could tire Haye out so much that he ends up stopping Haye because of complete exhaustion. Just like what basically happened to Steve Cunningham. He was so tired because the bigger man was walking him down all night and leaning on him that he became a much more stationary target. And we seen the result. Also, for a big man Tyson Fury does have good stamina.

If you have ever fought or sparred with a man that outweighs you by a few stone you will be aware of how tiring it gets after  3 or 4 rounds, specially if the bigger man knows how to use his weight to his advantage. I have been there and let me tell you, it is tough. You have to be in tip top condition to go 12 rounds with a big man like Fury, who knows how to use his weight to his advantage. That's why Haye is looking for a quick knockout of Fury. He knows it could get tough in the middle rounds. Luckily for Haye, Fury's defence is a joke and his ability to box clever is non existent. He yearns for a tear up, but against Haye if he wants to brawl and comes out swinging rather then boxing clever he will be knocked out faster then Audley Harrision was. However, Fury and his trainer, Peter Fury, have said that we will see a different Tyson Fury in this fight. A smart fighter who will show his true potential. So it should be interesting to see what style Fury adopts for this fight. Or are we just wishful thinking and the truth is that he is who he is, he will revert to type, and he can't change how he fights in one training camp. We shall see.

I know that Haye doesn't need to be at his fastest or most hard hitting for this fight due to the level of competition he is facing being rather slow and cumbersome but in some of the training videos I have seen of Haye training for Fury all the comments are saying wow Haye looks great. But I don't think he does. He looks much slower then he used to be (at heavyweight). Almost like he's been doing too much weight training. Perhaps he's focusing more on sheer power then speed. A few people commented on his stomach looking a bit swelled. And yes it was visible. Like Tyson Fury said, I think he's been living the celebrity lifestyle a little too much. And that lifestyle can catch up with you in the late rounds of a fight. If this fight goes late it will be interesting to see what happens. But most money is on an early knockout for Haye. I Also think Haye will stop Fury early but to be honest I want Fury to win. It would be a great achievement if he could rise to the challenge and prove people wrong by actually beating David Haye. Stranger things have happened. Should be a good fight.

DAVID HAYE VS TYSON FURY HEAD TO HEAD

Tyson Fury and David Haye came face to face today in London at the press conference. Haye looked all business while Tyson Fury was in a playful mood. It might be nerves or maybe because a lot has been said about the build up to this fight, with both fighters having a lot to say and a lot of excitement expected, it may be Tyson Fury trying a little too hard to live up to that hype.

Anderson Silva Gets Knocked Out Weidman

Anderson Silva Gets Knocked Out By Chris Weidman

Chris Weidman Scores a second round knockout over Anderson Silva to win the UFC Middleweight Title. This fight could have gone either way in terms of the end result. But in true Anderson Silva style he starts clowning in the second round and gets caught with a huge punch that sends his eyes into the back of his head. Weidman followed up with some brutal ground and pound and Herb Dean jumped in and stopped the fight. That's what you get for clowning.

He did not respect Weidman's power or skills and payed the price. In some ways it was a crazy way to win the belt because people will now be saying if Anderson Silva wasn't messing around and was all business he would have won this fight..Who knows, maybe he would have. But even Anderson Silva, as good as he is, is made of flesh and blood. No one is invincible. You do not clown like that against top level opposition. He's done it in the past and got away with it, but this time he payed the price. Anyway, it is what it is. A good performance by Weidman and a costly mistake by Anderson Silva. Will there be a rematch? Anderson Silva said he doesn't want one but maybe he needs some time to think things over because he has just signed a 10 fight contract with the UFC so we'll have to wait and see what happens.

Also, Golovkin stops Macklin in the 3rd round with a perfect body shot that sent Macklin down to stay. Golovkin dominated the fight from start to finish. Very impressive.

Tyson Fury Demands 80% Purse From Haye

The purse wars for this fight are in full effect. Tyson Fury demands 80% of the purse in order to sign the contract to fight David Haye. Is this just silly talk in order to generate more press coverage or is this a serious offer that he will not back down on. If Tyson Fury will not fight David Haye unless he gets 80% in many ways hints that Fury is pricing himself out of the fight on purpose.

In other words he is rather fearful of this fight and knows there's a big chance he will lose. Tyson Fury and David Haye have took to Twitter. Haye said he has tried everything to make this fight happen, offering Fury a fair 50/50 split, but still Fury will not agree.

Fury claims that he is the main attraction and deserves the lions share..Personally I think it should be a 50/50 split. Haye is the bigger attraction having been a unified cruiser weight champion, and heavyweight champion. Fair enough, Fury is in the limelight lately but he does not deserve more then 50%.

If Fury is the fighting man he says he is then he should jump at the chance to make this fight happen and prove he is the best heavyweight in Britain right now. But he is hesitant. I wonder why.. Perhaps he see's an easier route to a Klitschko fight rather then risk his unbeaten record against Haye. 80% is a joke. And not good news for the fans who really wanted to see this fight.

Broner Vs Malignaggi Face Off Video

Adrien Broner and Paulie Malignaggi face off this weekend in a fight that promises to have fireworks due to all the talk going back and forth between the pair. It's a great clash of styles between a great boxer in Malignaggi against a fighter still yet to really prove himself that has good boxing skills but is coming up in weight here to try and take Malignaggi's title. Broner is unbeaten so this it's a risky fight to take considering he is moving up two weight divisions for this fight. We can see why they have picked Malignaggi. Pick the weakest puncher with a title = Malignaggi = Easy money and title. I hope they get a shock. Broner and his team have obviously seen weakness in Malignaggi's game and think his title is there for the taking. We'll see what happens.

Floyd Mayweather Wins - Easy Money

I guess every things already been said about how great Floyd's performance was against Robert Guerrero. I hate to say it because I wanted Floyd to be tested in this fight, but he was just too good for Robert Guerrero in every single department. I'm not gonna bore you with praising Floyd over and over because I bet that's all you've been reading since he skooled Guerrero. However, I will say this. I consider Marquez to be a really good fighter, maybe one of the best out there. The Only thing not on his side now is his age. But in saying that, look what he done to Pacquiao, and that was after the Mayweather defeat.

I also consider Robert Guerrero to be a very good, world class fighter. One of the best in and around his weight class. Floyd Mayweather beat these two fighters easily, and that's no easy task..People are saying Guerrero didn't try, but he did. He done the best he could with the ability and gameplan he had.

Floyd Mayweather Jr has gone beyond the level of World Class, he is in that higher place where he doesn't even have to think about what he's going to do, his super tuned instinct just does it for him automatically. Of course, training as hard as he does doesn't hurt either, and is definitely a huge contributor to his success. Another factor is the confidence he has from being an undefeated champion for so many years gives him an edge mentally over any opponent.

Who should he fight next? Everyone says Canelo. In terms of what the fans want to see, and also money wise that's a great fight. But judging on how fast Floyd looked against Guerrero I don't think Canelo would do very well. He's not fast enough..No disrespect to Canelo because he is a good fighter. Floyd has expressed an interest in wanting to fight in the UK for his next fight so we'll have to see what happens.

Klitschko Vs Pianeta Weigh In

This wasn't a big fight anyway but it's been totally dwarfed by the Mayweather - May Day event. Wladimir should win this quite easily. There's no denying it, Pianeta is a C class fighter, but perhaps he can last a few rounds. Wladimir took this fight in order to remain busy. But this is heavyweight boxing and one punch can change a fight. And sometimes in boxing the fight that everyone expects you to win easily can turn out to be the complete opposite. Can't see that happening here though but It's worth watching while you get ready for Mayweather Vs Guerrero.

Mayweather Vs Guerrero Head 2 Head

Most of the talking has been done. It's almost fight time. Many people think that this is an easy win for Floyd Mayweather Jr but it really depends on what type of fight plan Robert Guerrero comes into the fight with. If Guerrero becomes the counter puncher in this fight he does stand a chance of making it a closer fight then what most people think. Most of Floyd's recent opponents think that going after him, being the aggressor, making it a rough fight is what they have to do to stand a chance of beating Floyd.

But this only leads to them realising how slippery Floyd is and being left open from missing with their shots and being counter punched all night long. Floyd is a defensive master. If Floyd is forced to do the chasing, and as a result, the first to throw punches, we could see him getting counter punched. He's so used to guys going after him that it could throw him off his game if it was the other way round.

I know this is easier said then done against Floyd Mayweather but it's a game plan that hasn't been used against Floyd for quite some time. But saying that, Guerrero has been talking non stop about how he's gonna bring it to Floyd and take him to war, so I doubt we'll see him try to be the counter puncher and make Floyd use his 36 year old legs in this fight. If he does it could be interesting. Either way, Guerrero comes to fight and no matter what happens he will go out on his shield. Don't miss it.

Tyson Fury Vs Cunningham Head 2 Head

Tyson Fury makes his American debut against Steve Cunningham this weekend, 20th April 2013. Many people think it's an easy win for Fury but he has to be careful. With Cunningham being the smaller guy he will no doubt be looking to land overhand punches, and we have seen how vulnerable Tyson Fury can be to those. He has been dropped and shook by overhand punches numerous times in previous fights against lower level opposition.

What makes this fight more interesting is that Tyson Fury will want to put on a good performance with it being his debut in the USA so we could see him taking some big risks trying to get the knockout. Should be an interesting fight.

David Haye Come Back Interview 2013

David Haye is fighting on June 29th 2013 against an opponent yet to be named. Haye and Adam Booth have assured everyone that the opponent will be a highly ranked heavyweight within the top 15 of the world rankings. We all know that David Haye showed himself up against Wladimir Klitschko with all the talk, the toe, and not knocking Wladimir out. But he has slightly redeemed himself by smashing Chisora to bits. No one expected Haye to demolish Chisora the way he did. Chisora went 12 rounds with Vitali Klitschko and Vitali, although he hurt his hand in the fight, could not get rid of Chisora.  Yet David Haye completely knocked him into next week.

David Haye did choose to retire early for a heavyweight at 31 years old. It was a bit of a silly decision that Haye and Adam Booth came to many years ago, that Haye would do all he could in the sport and then retire at 31. But for a heavyweight 31 is very young to retire. David Haye, now 32, is actually in his prime for a heavyweight. While it's true that all people reach a peak at different ages and wear and tear can count for a lot, David Haye hasn't really had many tough fights where he's taken huge punishment. Haye's boxing style is elusive, he's an in and out type of fighter. He gets inside, does some damage and gets back out of range.

David Haye coming back is good for British boxing, actually it's good for boxing world wide. It pumps a bit of much needed energy into the heavyweight scene. And it also makes things that little bit tougher for up and comers like Tyson Fury and David Price. Sorry to say, but If either Fury or Price ends up fighting Haye they have a good chance of being out classed, and worse still for them at least, knocked out. Tyson Fury Vs David Haye would be a fight the fans would want to see. It would also generate some big money.

Houston Alexander Talks A Comeback UFC

MMA Digest caught up with former UFC fighter, Houston Alexander and talked about his return to the UFC. Alexander is 41 years old and says he's in better shape now then he was when he was younger. He wasn't a bad fighter when he was fighting in the UFC, he had great striking skills. His last UFC fight was a loss to Kimbo Slice. Alexander wants to make a come back to the UFC and hopefully end his career on a high note. Should he come back at 41? Who knows.

Fighting in any combat sport can be dangerous at any age. But some fighters do get better as they age. However, they are few and far between. Houston Alexander is a heavyweight and there's some big tough guys in his weight class that have remained busy, fighting the best in the division without lay offs. Houston Alexander certainly has his work cut out.
