Anderson Silva Gets Knocked Out By Chris Weidman
Chris Weidman Scores a second round knockout over Anderson Silva to win the UFC Middleweight Title. This fight could have gone either way in terms of the end result. But in true Anderson Silva style he starts clowning in the second round and gets caught with a huge punch that sends his eyes into the back of his head. Weidman followed up with some brutal ground and pound and Herb Dean jumped in and stopped the fight. That's what you get for clowning.
He did not respect Weidman's power or skills and payed the price. In some ways it was a crazy way to win the belt because people will now be saying if Anderson Silva wasn't messing around and was all business he would have won this fight..Who knows, maybe he would have. But even Anderson Silva, as good as he is, is made of flesh and blood. No one is invincible. You do not clown like that against top level opposition. He's done it in the past and got away with it, but this time he payed the price. Anyway, it is what it is. A good performance by Weidman and a costly mistake by Anderson Silva. Will there be a rematch? Anderson Silva said he doesn't want one but maybe he needs some time to think things over because he has just signed a 10 fight contract with the UFC so we'll have to wait and see what happens.
