David Haye Vs Audley Harrison
The question on everyones lips has been...Will David Haye rise to the challenge and fight Wladimir Klitschko after Wlad called him out. Well, the answer looks very likely to be NO! Instead Haye and his camp are in talks with much lesser fighters including, Shannon Briggs, Hasim Rahman, and none other then Audley Harrison.
I cannot beleive what is happening here. David Haye has been running his mouth over the past 18 months for a fight with either of the Klitschko's. He gets what he wants twice, and backs out twice. Then Wladimir calls him out. This is the perfect chance for Haye to step up and take this fight. But he ops for a fight with one of the B class fighters..My only conclusion is that David Haye must have some fear of the Klitschko's. Either that, or it comes down to greed. If Haye was as eager to fight the Klitschko's as his mouth suggests, then he wouldn't care if the purse split was 65% - 35% in the Klitschko's favor, as long as the fight was made.
The fight that Haye looks most likely to take is against Audley Harrison. Why would you fight Fraudley Harrison, over unifying most of the heavyweight belts in one fight? I think Haye will lose a huge amount of credibility over this, and rightly so..Yet again, David Haye has had a fight with Wladimir handed to him on a plate, and turned it down. Most boxers would grab the opportunity with both hands. The time is now.
David Haye has stated that he's only staying in boxing for a few more fights, just long enough to unify the heavyweight division. Well, Haye you better get a move on mate and stop wasting valuable time fighting lesser fighters. By fighting these lesser fighters, Haye is also putting his suspect chin on the line. The fighters that the Haye camp are considering are certainly not on the Klitschko level, but they do pack some heavy punching power. Imagine how devastated Haye would be if he got caught with a huge punch and got KO'd. Belt gone. His chances of fighting the Klitschko's and unifying the division would be in tatters. And with the amount of time he wants to stay in boxing for, it might not be long enough to climb back to the top of the ladder for a shot at the Klitschko's.
For all Haye's messing about, I hope he fights Audley Harrison and ends up getting knocked out, which is not impossible. I don't hate Haye, but do hate the way he has behaved throughout the whole Klitschko senarios. He really has made himself look silly. If your going to chase a fighter for a fight, at least take it when the fighter accepts the challenge. David Haye has done the opposite with both brothers, nearly 3 times now if he doesn't fight Wladimir in his next fight.
