So far this fight has gone somewhat under the radar. John Ryder isn't very well known in America, and Canelo has been out for some time with an injury. Nobody really expects Ryder to win, and while he may not win, it's entirely possible that he may do better than most think he will. He is a good fighter. Many boxing fans in the UK think he beat Callum Smith, but was robbed on the score cards. Ryder also "beat" Daniel Jacobs. But just like the old saying goes, "what comes around goes around". Almost everyone feels that Ryder was given a gift decision in that fight. But whatever, it was very close. Ryder will get his shot at all the belts against Canelo in GUADALAJARA Mexico. Which happens to be his home town / place of birth.
We all know that fighting at home can sometimes bring more pressure, and Canelo has been out for a while, so could the timing be right for John Ryder. I highly doubt it. Canelo has so much experience and will, or should be a bit too quick and skilled for Ryder. But it should be a good fight. This is Ryders big chance to become the undisputed champion, so he will give it everything. Prediction: Mid to late stoppage for Canelo. I was surprised to see that Ryder is slightly taller than Canelo. And strangely, they actually look alike! Almost like long lost brothers!

Boxer Is Juggernaut From The X-Men
That boxer is none other than the UK's Joe "The Juggernaut" Joyce. It does look really funny, has me laughing every time I see it. Most people don't know what it is referring to. The video uploader [Frank Warren's Queensberry YouTube Channel] calls it a plant pot! But I believe it's actually in reference to the Juggernaut From The X-Men marvel comics. It's certainly something a bit different. I think its made of plastic, not metal! Props to whoever made it. Looks like it fits really well. He can see through the holes properly and everything.

Joe Joyce Confronted By His Next Opponent
Joe "The Juggernaut" Joyce Interview Gatecrashed by his next opponent, which is the biggest and best Chinese heavyweight Zhilei Zhang. This is a great fight. A great clash of styles. Joyce has that granite chin and excellent engine, and "Big Bang" Zhang is a superb counter puncher, with good punch resistance and huge knockout power. Problem with Zhang is he tires quite badly in the later rounds, so most people favour Joyce to get the job done. But as a 6 round fighter Zhilei Zhang is very dangerous. He's very talented. And I would not be surprised if Joyce touches the canvas or gets seriously rocked in this fight. Don't miss it.
In terms of who I want to win, this is a tough one for me. I really like Joe Joyce, great guy, good solid fighter. But I'm also a Zhang fan. I really admire his skills. So I guess I'll just have to say, may the best man win!

Boxing Reflex Ball Hat / Headbands
If you're into boxing you may have seen some of the best, [arguably within the top 10 or 20 pound for pound] boxers in the world (Artur Beterbiev and Vasyl Lomachenko to quickly name two) wearing a strange but simple device that consists of a cap, some elasticated string with a tennis ball attached to the end. After seeing this you might have thought to yourself, that's cool, where can I buy one of those.
Buy or DIY? Well, oddly, given how simple they are to make (you can easily make your own), for quite a while they weren't available to buy in many of the major online web stores in the UK, but now due to the demand increasing, they have started hitting the shelves in considerable numbers. This is great news for people who are interested in effectively increasing their reflexes, hand to eye co-ordination and punch accuracy at one of the cheapest price points possible. Although some might not think it because it could be passed off as a child's toy to those who don't know about them, this simple device is very effective. There's a reason why boxers who are at the pinnacle of the sport are using these.
They are excellent for sharpening reflexes and reaction time, and perfect for enhancing hand to eye coordination and accuracy. If you're someone who just randomly punches a bag to stay in shape, and doesn't do any sparring or other work, including pad work, using the speed ball, floor to ceiling, etc, chances are you are just hitting the bag without much thought for where the punches are landing, other than high, low or straight or side. That's where the Tennis Ball Punching Cap / Headband comes into play.
This device somewhat bridges the gap. A moving target really makes the brain work harder. Rather than just punching hard, the person has to actually think and concentrate in order to hit the ball with any consistency.
Now you may be thinking, in the title it says "cap" but what is shown in some of the pictures of the product is basically a headband. Yes that's correct. But you can attach the headband to fit around a cap, if that's how you want to use it. You can also buy different model variations which are not a headband at all, but actually a cap with the elasticated string, and ball, fixed directly to the front.
Like everything in boxing that requires a high level of synchronicity, it's difficult to begin with. But just like with a floor to ceiling ball, once you get in tune with the rhythm and get the timing down, it gets much much easier. However, if you want to truly master this device it will take some time. If you look at how Sergey Kovalev (video below) and Vasyl Lomachenko are able to successfully hit the ball while bouncing on the balls of their feet (in a skipping motion), this is much harder than hitting the ball while stationary (feet planted). Practice Practice Practice!
Even though it is a cheaply priced product, so you won't lose much money if it breaks quickly, you still don't want to waste money on something that just falls apart after a week. There is no actual product "reviewed", or pictured here, but just read through the reviews on Amazon UK / USA or Argos UK to check which ones have a good track record. There used to be one for sale called the Boxaball. That had pretty decent reviews. Same with some of the Rival brand examples.
However, both do have a small percentage of buyers who say it broke very quickly. Just like with any product, this is fairly normal. But with how easy it is to make one of these, you could very quickly make your own and really put some effort into creating a super reliable version for very little money outlay. In fact, probably for free by using bits and pieces you already have a home. Buy or DIY, the choice is yours. Either way, this is a great tool for sharpening the mind and body to work in unison with each other. Can also be a lot of fun, too!

IKE IBEABUCHI Has Been Released 2022
IKE "The President" IBEABUCHI is back. He has been released from prison and is now back in Nigeria, and appears to be a free man. If you don't know who Ike is, he was one of the best up and coming Heavyweights of the 1990's. He was a serious force to be reckoned with, and in my opinion would have no doubt went on to become a heavyweight champion had he stayed out of trouble. At 20 wins and 0 losses he is still undefeated. Check out the video below of Ike working out. He is still in great shape for his age.
Now at 49 years old, he does plan to make a comeback. In all honesty, at almost 50 years old, I think we can all agree that his best days in the ring are behind him. But it would be great if he could get a few warm up fights against low level opposition [which is needed as he has been in prison for 20 years], then maybe fight on a Triller event against another boxing or MMA veteran.
Can Ike Ibeabuchi win a major title at 49. I doubt it, but stranger things have happened. George Foreman did it at 45, so you just never know. We'll have to see what he has left. But It only takes one punch in the heavyweight division.
Power is the last thing to leave a fighter. And Ike was a powerful guy. He is one of those guys, who even at almost 50, I wouldn't completely right off. If he does come back, I can't wait to see him in the ring again. If you haven't seem him fight, take a look at highlight video above or watch the full fight he had against David Tua. It was a war. I wish Ike all the best in his life and comeback to the ring. I'll be rooting for him. Be sure to subscribe to Ike's YouTube channel and send him your best wishes.
