Carl Froch totally dominates Arthur Abraham to become the WBC Super Middleweight Champion Of The World for the second time.

In all honesty, Abraham was like a statue through out the whole fight. He was so easy to hit, and was basically just standing in front of Froch all night with his hands up, but still taking strong punches to the head and body.

Carl Froch fought the perfect fight in many respects, he was on the back foot for most of the night, using his jab constantly, but still being aggressive, keeping Abraham weary of letting go with his own punches. When Abraham did get some punches off they were mostly blocked by Froch's arms, or Froch tied Abraham up. Not forgetting Froch's very good footwork, that seen him get nicely out the way of some big swinging hooks from the desperate to land a punch Abraham. My break down of the fight and how Froch could win was exactly the method he used, and he did use it to perfection.

Arthur Abraham waited far too long. I found myself feeling annoyed at how much he was just doing nothing, except taking punches. In this fight Abraham was basically a human punchbag. I expected far more from Abraham. I thought he would have really changed his game like he said he was going to, at least by starting fast..But I guess the old saying is true, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks".Not that Abrahams very old, but he is stuck in his ways, or boxing style should I say.

I think the size difference played a part in this fight as well, with Carl Froch being the naturally bigger man. Abraham wasn't able to bully Froch, and I think that had a lot to do with the natural size and strength difference between the two fighters. In Abrahams last two fights, in which he has lost both, it's clear to see that a good boxer, with good foot movement and good combinations will beat Arthur Abraham 9 out of 10 times.

A great performance by Carl Froch mentally and physically. He fought the fight the way he needed to in order to win the title.

Michael Katsidis Vs Juan Manuel Marquez

Very rarely do boxing fans get two fights taking place on the same night that have the potential of being fights of the year. First off is the fight between Carl Froch and Arthur Abraham for the WBC Super Middleweight title. Then it's Michael Katsidis vs Juan Manuel Marquez. I cannot wait for this fight. This is a match made in heaven if your a boxing fan that loves to watch two world class fighters with huge hearts, enormous pride, and excellent boxing skills go to war from the first bell to the last.

I beleive that Marquez has the edge in boxing skills and ability, but the edge in power and brute force has to go to Katsidis. Michael Katsidis is like a bull in a china shop, which is why I think he will cause a lot of problems for the aging 37 year old warrior Marquez. Even though this fight is taking place in Marquez's home of Mexico, Katsidis travels very well, and I'm confident he will not be fazed in the slightest. I should also point out that this was not a fight that Marquez has chosen, he had to accept this fight because Katsidis is the mandatory challenger for the title. So it's either face Katsidis or lose your title belt.

One concern with Katsidis is that his boxing style see's him take many punches on his way to landing his own, couple that with how accurate a counter puncher Marquez is and you have the potential for Katsidis taking some punishment, getting cut early, or even knocked out. ~Saying that, I think that Katsidis will get hit, but will get inside regularly, and successfully go to work, landing some great head and body punches. I see Katsidis being way too strong for Marquez to keep him off all night. It's a tough fight for both fighters, but Katsidis has the hunger, style and strength to beat Marquez.

Preditction: Katsidis to knock Marquez out late in the fight.

The main event for UFC 123 was Quinton Rampage Jackson Vs Lyoto Machida. The fight was close it has to be said. But Machida was the clear winner. When the scores were being read out everyone was convinced that Machida's arm would be raised and didn't think much of it as it seemed like there was no way the decision could go any other way, but instead it was Rampage Jackson that was declared the winner on the score cards. Machida was robbed! Even Rampage Jackson said it himself after the fight. Something should be done about this, perhaps an instant rematch, or the fight should be looked at by the governing bodies. Almost everyone thought Machida had won, even his opponent, so there's something not right there.

Co-main event was between long time rivals BJ Penn and Matt Hughes. The fight was over in just 21 seconds, thanks to a nice accurate punch by BJ Penn. BJ caught Hughes with a flush punch to the side of the face and down he went. BJ, eager to get an early night went in for the kill, landing some full on punches to the defensless face of Matt Hughes as he lay there dazed. The referee jumped in on BJ Penn to save Hughes from any further punishment and the fight was over.

Anyone who knows these two fighters will know, these two meeting in the ring to fight for the WBC title is going to be one hell of a war. Both guys are big punchers, and both love to come forward and trade punches, so it really will be a fight you don't want to miss.

As good as they both are, they do have certain traits that concern me. Carl Froch has one hand by his side almost permanently and has been vunerable in past fights, taking punches that he could have avoided if he had his guard up. Could this half a guard see Froch get put down on the canvas, or even knocked out by the brutal punching Abraham. Another thing with Carl Froch, as the fight goes into the second half he gets more easy to hit. The second half of the fight, round 6 onwards, is where Abraham really starts going to work. These are a few points that make me think Carl Froch could get knocked out late in the fight, as Abraham has huge punching power, even in the later rounds.

One thing that concerns me about Arthur Abraham, he waits for far too long. He is prepared to just cover up and wait for his openings. A lot of the time the openings don't present themselves, so he waits, blocks punches, and lets the other fighter take the rounds purely because of their work rate.

I beleive the winner of this fight is the one who can box out of their element the most effectively on the night. Carl Froch needs to use his decent boxing skills, stay on the outside and jab, but be aggressive, taking advantage of slow starter Abraham. This method would see Froch steal the first 5 - 6 rounds. After this, Froch needs to remain aggressive in order to keep Abraham weary, but keep moving around, using the boxing skills to full effect. Jab and move for most of the night. Don't stand still and slug it out with Abraham, not for long periods anyway. If Froch does stand still for long spells he would be giving Abraham his only chance to win, by knock out. Froch always forgets his gameplan and ends up going to war, so what are the chances of Froch using the tactics mentioned here and sticking to them through the whole fight..

As for Abraham, rather then covering up, if he starts fast and keeps busy from the first bell he will most probably win this fight. A busy fighter always makes Froch come out of his shell and go into war mode, this would be ideal for Abraham as Carl doesn't have the best defense, and as much as Carl can take a punch, he is in with one of the pound for pound hardest punchers in boxing today. So it's not wise to go toe to toe with Abraham. Saying that, Froch is a big puncher also, so if they do go to war the fight could go either way. We have to remember that Arthur Abraham is not a natural Super Middleweight, he has moved up from Middleweight.

Make no mistake this is a very even match up, and both fighters have a lot of pride. Not to mention that both were undefeated before entering the Super Six Tournament. So they are both very determined to redeem themselves by winning this fight and becoming the new WBC Super Middleweight Champion Of The World.

Prediction: I think Carl Froch will be the busier fighter, taking the decision, winning the fight by about 5 rounds on the score cards.

This was the outcome most people were expecting, so it's no surprise that David Haye knocked Audley Harrison out in Round 3. Audley actually landed just one jab on Haye through out the whole fight. Was Audley overcome by the event? Quite possibly, but he has had long enough to prepare, and had said a million times before the fight that he would be ready on the night. So no excuses.

This fight was about money. Everyone who knows boxing knew that Audley had a very slim punchers chance of winning this fight. And that slim chance was only because the pair had history together, and Audley had a good left hand. Hesitant as always, Audley never has been a busy fighter, and that's what he needed to be tonight to stand any chance of even making the fight competitive against David Haye.

The truth is Haye is in a different league to Harrison, as we seen tonight. The first time Haye actually let go with some meaningful punches, Audley was on the floor. Audley's lucky the referee stopped the fight because he was in no position to continue. If the referee would of let the fight continue, Audley would of just took more punishment.

Great performance by David Haye. He stayed cool under pressure, and handled the fight to perfection. When he had Audley in trouble he did not let him off the hook. He caught Audley with some flush punches, and Audley's instinct was to just cover up. But there was no getting away, and Haye found the openings through Audley's guard to land clean punches and put Audley down. Once he was up after about 8 seconds Haye swarmed him, not giving him any chance at all. Audley took a few more punches before the referee called an end to the fight. Audley was left dazed and had a bloody nose.

Audley's dream ends in tears, and Haye  moves on to hopefully face one of the Klitschko's next year. .More then likely Wladimir.
