Wladimir Klitschko Knocks Out Eddie Chambers
Wladimir Klitschko Knocks Out Eddie Chambers In The 12th Round
This fight had it's moments for both boxers, but it was mainly dominated by Wladimir in every round. Eddie Chambers started the first round confidently, trying hard to be awkward, using good defensive skills, and trying to slip that superb jab of Wladimir's. But the jab was too much for Chambers, and in the second round Chambers was caught by a one-two combination that made his legs buckle. It looked as if the fight could be over, but Chambers recovered well considering how cleanly he was caught, and he went on to finish the round, throwing some fast punches back at Wladimir.
Eddie Chambers seemed as though he wanted to wrestle with Wladimir once the pair clinched, and show his strength. He picked Wladimir up off his feet at one point, carrying him around for a short period. Wladimir done a good job of pushing down with all his weight on Chambers, knowing that it would tire him out that little bit more.
In the third round Chambers was caught with the same one-two punch combination that seen him rocked again, but he managed to shrug it off, use his defensive skills, and throw his own punches back, with most of them falling short.
Through out the rest of the rounds Wladimirs jab, straight right hand, and sheer range were too much, and Chambers was starting to tire. Chambers couldn't get on the inside because everytime he tried, Wladimir would throw the jab and jump back, creating too much space for Chambers to get inside. Eddie Chambers defense was good, but he used it too much. Chambers was inviting Wladimir in, as if to try and get Wladimir to punch so that it would create an opening for Chambers to get his own shots off, but Wladimir was too smart. He was always ready to jump back after letting his jab go, always just out of range for any of Chambers counter punches to land or be effective. In a way the style in which Eddie Chambers fought reminded me of what Kevin "Kingpin" Johnson done against Vitali, fight in defensive mode for the whole fight.
In the tenth round it looked as if the fight could be stopped because there wasn't much coming back from Chambers, he was tired and very frustrated. Wladimirs jab and sense of distance was the reason for this. At the end of the tenth there was something wrong with one of Eddie Chambers gloves, and it had to be replaced, giving Chambers a much needed rest. The 11th round was more of the same from Wladimir, who was throwing less punches himself, but still clearly winning every round with his jab. Every round had to be scored to Wladimir because Chambers was fighting so defensive.
At the end of the 11th, Emanuel Stewart (Wladimirs head trainer) was not happy with Wladimir, telling him that he's not throwing enough punches, and that this fight should not be going to the scorecards. So in the 12th and final round Wladimir done something that we rarely see him do, get involved and start looking for the knock out!!! Wladimir was unloading with power punches, throwing one-twos, wide hooks with mean intentions. This was the last thing Chambers wanted as he had, by this stage, submitted himself to just going the distance. Chambers was also pretty tired at this point and on the back foot. As Chambers was moving backwards, after the pair were pulled apart by the referee, he ended up in the corner, where he was caught with a very accurrate lunging left hook to the face that seen him crumble instantly. That left hook knocked Chambers clean out, and he remained knocked out for a good 20-30 seconds. It looked as though Chambers was seriously hurt, but thankfully he was up on his feet after a few minutes.
Credit where credits due. You could see that Eddie Chambers tried his best, showing a lot of heart, even when he was getting hurt, he fought back. He came to fight. But it was nowhere near enough to de-thrown heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko.
Wladimir retains his titles and could now be lined up for a super fight against David Haye, that's if Haye can get past John Ruiz.

Wladimir Klitschko Vs Eddie Chambers
Wladimir Klitschko Vs Eddie Chambers
Both of these fighters have very good boxing skills, with Wladimir having the edge as far as the jab goes. Eddie Chambers is extremely quick for a heavyweight. This could cause Wladimir some problems if, that's IF, Eddie Chambers can get on the inside, past that world class spear jab of Wladimir's. Eddie Chambers and his team have had a long time to put together a good gameplan to defeat Wladimir. Chambers knows Wladimirs strengths, one being his jab, is something he will have to get past to stand any chance at all of winning this fight. Watching a video interview with "Fast" Eddie Chambers, I seen him say that he's not going to do the same thing everyone else has tried to do against Wladimir and failed. He said that him and his team have been working tirelessly, training on nuturalizing the jab of Wladimir. But saying it, training for it, and actually doing it on the night are very different indeed.
Saying that, I do think Eddie Chambers stands a chance of winning this fight. He does have very fast hands and good boxing skills. Eddie Chambers is also a very grounded, and realistically minded person. In his interviews you can see that he's not under any pretenses like some fighters that talk the talk, trying to convince themselves that they can't be beat, but deep down know they won't win. Eddie Chambers seems the total opposite, he admits that this fight is going to be very hard to win, and seems well prepared mentally and physically to give this fight his best shot.
Eddie Chambers does have some power also, not as much as Wladimir, but enough to knock Wladimir out if he makes a mistake or gets complacent. We have seen in past fights that Wladimirs vunerability is his chin, he can be hurt and knocked out. Wladimir does not have a good recovery time after being hurt either, he stays dazed and wobbly legged for quite some time. That is why he doesn't like to mix it up, or stand toe to toe with his opponents. Why risk it when you can stay on the outside, jab and win. Wladimirs a master boxer on the outside, and unless Eddie Chambers can break Wladimirs rythm, pressure him, and make him fight, he stands a good chance of losing this fight by unanimous decision on the scorecards.
However, my prediction is for Wladimir Klitschko to stop Eddie Chambers in the 10th round, by either KO or Chambers corner will pull him out.

Bernard Hopkins Vs Roy Jones Jr
Bernard Hopkins Vs Roy Jones Jr
So much has happened in both boxers careers since the last time the pair met in the ring all those years ago. They have both had good times and bad, each being considered as P4P top 5 in the world at various times in their boxing career's. At one point Roy Jones Jr was, in my opinion, the P4P number 1 boxer in the world, no one came close to Roy Jones Jr when he was in his prime.
But that was many years ago, and since then, Roy Jones Jr has suffered some devastating knockout defeats, pointing to the fact that he was losing his punch resistance, getting hit more, and fighting on too long past his prime years. Roy Jones was at his peak when he fought Hopkins the first time, where as Hopkins was fairly inexperienced in the pro game at that point compared to Roy Jones Jr.
But the tables turned. After the first fight between the pair, Bernard Hopkins boxing career really took of, and he held and defended the title for over 10 years, going unbeaten through out that whole time period. Hopkins has stayed very disiplined with his boxing training and lifestyle. I can say with confidence that Bernard Hopkins is a throw back, he has gotten better with age. His defensive skills are some of the best in the boxing world, only bettered by Floyd Mayweather Jr. Not too long ago Bernard Hopkins gave Kelly Pavlik a boxing lesson.
As much as no man, no matter who he is, can evade the eventual slowing down that reaching old age will bring, or should i be nice and say middle age, i think im with everyone else when I say, at this age and stage in both fighters boxing careers, Bernard Hopkins has much more left then Roy Jones Jr. Bernard Hopkins has never been knocked out, never been in bad trouble in a fight, in fact he has hardly took a beating through his whole boxing career, that's how good Bernard's boxing skills were, and still are to a degree.
This will be an interesting fight because Roy Jones's mindset is totally different to when he fought his last fight where he was knocked out by Danny Green in the first round. Roy Jones is convinced that Hopkins cannot beat him, so this alone will give Jones that extra boost needed to make the fight interesting.
One the other hand Bernard Hopkins has a one goal in mind, and that's revenge. He wants to avenge the loss he suffered to Roy Jones, and this will probably see him even more motivated and more determined to win then ever before.
This is a fight of mindsets, not ages. Roy Jones beleives he has always had Bernard's number, and Hopkins knows he is ten times a better boxer now then he was when he first faced Roy Jones, so he has a serious point to prove.
Both boxers also feel that they were ducked by each other. But boxing is a business, and I remember the "ducking" was really a case of purse split disagreements. If the money split would of been acceptable to each fighter, this rematch would of happened years ago.
Prediction: Bernard Hopkins to win a unanimous decision on the score cards.

Manny Pacquiao Beats Joshua Clottey
Manny Pacquiao Beats Joshua Clottey On Points
I thought this was a decent fight, although it would of been much better if Clottey had come with winning in mind. Clottey was concerned of Manny Pacquiao's power from the first, right up until the last bell. He knew he was over matched in terms of speed, power, and boxing ability. So Clottey done the best he could with the tools he had. In some ways i respect Clottey for showing how tough he was and going the distance, which is what he set out to do. But in all honesty, I think the fight could of gotten very interesting if Clottey had thrown more punches, because the punches he did throw, most of them landed and were rocking Manny Pacquiao's head back.
All credit must go to Manny Pacquiao. He done very well in this fight. I say that because it is very hard to fight someone that just has survival in mind, and won't stop covering up. Clotteys defense was very good but used too much. Manny Pacquiao was waiting for Clottey to throw punches so that he could land counter punches in between, this being the only chance Manny had to land punches, but Manny had a long wait! Manny Pacquiao done as good a job as anyone could do with trying to penetrate the defense of Joshua Clottey. I bet Clottey now wishes he took a few more chances. Now that it's over he can look back on what was the biggest fight of his boxing career and wonder what if..
A unanimous decision win for Manny Pacquiao.
All we need now is for Floyd Mayweather to beat Shane Mosley (although i do want Mosley to win), and everyone gets the fight they've been hoping to see.. Manny Pacquiao Vs Floyd Mayweather. Or if Shane can pull out the win, and give Floyd his first loss, we will be watching Manny Pacquiao Vs Sugar Shane Mosley. Either way, it's going to be a fight to remember, and a fight we all desperately want to see.

Tyson Furys Fighting Fit
Tyson Furys Fighting Fit
Since Tyson Fury's fight against John McDermott, in which Fury had his hand raised, to the shock of many people that thought John McDermott won the fight by a mile, Fury realised he was very luck to get the win by the referee's decision, and needed to get his fitness in order.
Well, he has done just that.Tyson Fury has been training and sparring in Germany, with new trainers, and a much better class of sparring partners. Fury has stated, This has made him in the best shape he has ever been in. Tyson Fury also said, he feels so good that he could fight David Haye and Wladimir Klitschko within hours of each other!.
I know it's just words, and Fury is basically just saying he feels great, and is confident, but I think Tyson Fury needs to be realistic. He has only had a handful of fights so far, mostly against low class opposition, except for John McDermott, who is a decent domestic fighter. But many people, me being one of them, thought Fury lost that fight by at least 4 rounds.
I beleive Tyson Fury knew himself that he lost that fight, and that's the reason why he has now woken up to the fact that he needs to be fitter and more focused on boxing in order to fight decent opponents for anything over 6 rounds. Tyson Fury had his first taste of fighting a boxer (Dermott), who can take a punch and keep fighting back, dragging a fight to the trenches. And in this step up, Fury did not look good. So it was the right move to get better sparring and better training, lets just see if all the hard work pays off in his next fight.
Tyson Fury's next fight will be on Friday, 5th March 2012 in Huddersfield, against an opponent yet to be named.
I hope he has a good performance, but i also hope the opponent is not another low class, one punch-all over journey man. Tyson Fury needs a little more of a test then that. Against that level of opposition he's not learning much.
