Fedor Emelianenko Vs Big Foot Silva

Fedor Emelianenko VS Antonio "Big Foot" Silva - Strike Force MMA

Big Foot Silva Beats Fedor Emelianenko

Fedor will make his return to the octagon on Saturday 12th Feb 2011 since losing to Jiu-Jitsu master Fabricio Werdum. Big Foot Silva is a dangerous fighter, he has good punching power, great comeback determination, and is no slouch on the ground being a Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt. He is a huge guy who has fought and beat some very good fighters, he has also improved immensely in the last year or so. Big Foot Silva gave Werdum a very good fight, and we all seen what Werdum done to Fedor. Silva also has good take downs and vicious ground and pound. This is a tough come back fight for anyone, including Fedor.

Fedor Emelianenko is considered by many as the best MMA fighter in the world, so he couldn't make his comeback against a mediocre opponent. Fedor is not without his haters though, people expect so much of Fedor and if he would of fought someone questionable the haters would of had a field day. Maybe they still will, maybe no one Fedor beats will ever be good enough for some people. However, I'm sure that if Fedor, at some point, fights and beats StrikeForce Champion Alistair Overeem, even the haters will have to conceed that he just beat "the man", considered as the one fighter people would have as the favorite to win in the build up to the fight.

Fedor Vs Big Foot Who Wins?

This is going to be a tough fight for Fedor, and as good as Fedor is it's still hard to pick a winner. But as we know, Fedor is the giant killer, he is brilliant at fighting the huge guys, and he has very good stamina late in fights, something that Big Foot does not have. Big Foot Silva should try and go for a quick stoppage because the longer the fight goes the more tired he's going to get. Fedor will probably try and use his fight tactics wisely, making Silva use up his energy in the early rounds, then when Silva's gassed out, Fedor will spring into action and go for a submission. Either that or some late round ground and pound. A tough fight for Fedor, specially coming off a loss, but I see Fedor making a successful comeback, winning by decision.

Is Fedor Finished As A Fighter?

Not at all, I think the Fedor loss to Werdum was just one of those things. Anyone, incuding the great Fedor Emelianenko can get caught. It doesn't take anything away from him, or any other great fighter, it just makes you realise and understand how easy it is to lose a fight in MMA.

Amir Khan Will Fight Paul McCloskey

Amir Khan Will Fight Paul McCloskey

Well, Amir Khan and his camp have ended up choosing to fight European Champion Paul McCloskey for their home coming fight. It would of been nice for Khan to have taken on a tougher fight in Junior Witter, but I'm sure McCloskey will put on a brave and entertaining performance. Talk is everywhere regarding the Khan Vs McCloskey fight being a tune up for Khans next fight against Timothy Bradley. No doubt McCloskey has been hearing this talk and reading all the comments online, tweets on Twitter etc.

I hope this really motivates him to train extremely hard and make sure he gives Khan a real good fight, just to prove to Khan and his camp that you should never look past any fighter, and it's a mistake to do so. Could we see Khan concentrating on the Bradley fight a little too much through this training camp for McCloskey? Maybe so. No fight is a sure win, and even if they do think McCloskeys an easy fight, which I hope it isn't, it would be wise for Khan to now just forget all the Bradley talk and think about McCloskey.

With all that said, I expect Khan to demolish McCloskey within 8 Rounds. McCloskeys not a bad domestic and European level fighter, but he is not at World level, not yet anyway, and I think this fight will hand him his first loss.

This fight almost didn't happen, McCloskey wasn't happy with the money he was offered. Negotiations were ongoing, along with the Khan camp looking at other options such as John Murray and Junior Witter. But in the end McCloskey came to his senses and took the fight. Just in the nik of time too, because the fight with Witter was close to being signed.

This is McCloskeys big chance to win a World Title, he would of been mad not to take it. He has to step up at some point, and it's better now then never. Let's say McCloskey didn't fight Khan and just defended his European title and ended up losing, it's possible that he would never get another World Title shot ever again. I really hope he gives this fight his all.

Amir Khan Might Fight Junior Witter

Amir Khan Might Fight Junior Witter

There is some talk going around that Amir Khans next opponent in April 2011 might be against former world champion Junior Witter. If this does end up being the case then Amir Khan should be praised for his willingness to take on good fighters. Junior Witter lost a split decision to Timothy Bradley in England, and also quit on his stool against Devon Alexander complaining of an elbow injury.

Witter is getting on in years now at 36, but he trains like a fighter in his 20's. He's always in the gym, always in shape even when not fighting, and does carry a significant amount of power in his punches. His switch hitting "Brendan Ingle" style is quite unpredictable and sometimes rather reckless, but that could work in his favor against Amir Khan, who does get hit once he starts to tire. And as we seen with Khan against Maidana, he was terrible on the inside and just couldn't tie up his opponent effectively. Maidana basically walked Khan down by cutting off the ring, then going to work while Khan was stuck on the ropes.

Khan and his camp probably feel the time is right to fight Witter with him coming off a few losses, being 36 years old, and most likely willing to take the offer placed on the table by Khan due to Witter still wanting to redeem himself and being hungry for the big fight, with a chance to win a World Title. Winning this fight would put Witter straight back to the top of the division.

If this fight takes place it's not an easy nights work for Khan, as well as a world title, huge pride is on the line here for both fighters, Witter especially. He was a British champion when Khan was still in the amatuer ranks, so he will be looking to knock Khan out. This fight is like a derby football match. Khan's from Bolton and Witter's from Bradford. Can Junior Witter be talked about with Ricky Hatton not being mentioned, probably not. Witter basically stalked Hatton to try and get a fight to happen, he wanted to fight Hatton so badly, but it never happened. So a show down with Khan could be the next best thing.

Amir Khans next fight is being considered as a tune up match to keep him active before he faces Timothy Bradley. If Khan faces either McCloskey or Murray, then it is just a tune up fight, he wins both those fights fairly easy, but Witter is definitely a much more thougher and far more experienced opponent to get past. Hats off to Khan if he does face Witter for his home coming fight, no one can say he is taking the easy route. It should be a great fight if it happens, a very interesting clash of styles.

Bradley Beats Alexander

Bradley Beats Alexander

Timothy Bradley adds the WBC title to his growing belt collection after beating Devon Alexander on the scorecards. The fight was stopped in the 10th round after a clash of heads. The clash of heads seemed to really bother Alexander, to the point where it looked like he used it as a valid excuse to get out of the fight.

When the doctor was looking at a cut caused by a clash of heads, Alexander was moaning and swearing, looking like he wanted the fight to be stopped. Alexanders facial and vocal expressions were not that of a fighter that wanted to carry on fighting, or was eager to win at that point. I think he was tired, cut, and knew Bradley still had gas in the tank, so he decided to take the easy way out, thinking he was already ahead on the scorecards. Sadly for Alexander, the fight was stopped and he lost on the scorecards. I bet he kinda wishes he kept on fighting now.

It was a decent fight. Alexander was mostly on the backfoot, which made Bradley a bit frustrated. But as expected, Bradley forced the fight, constantly on the front foot trying to mix it up with Alexander. Bradleys will and determination to win is what the judges seen in this fight. Bradley was the aggressor and deserved the win.

We could now be on the verge of a unification fight between Timothy Bradley and Amir Khan.

Bradley Beats Alexander

Even if the heavyweight division is lacking at the moment, the 140 pound division makes up for it in my opinion. The best fighters at 140 are facing each other. Just look at this match up between Bradley and Alexander, both fighters are unbeaten and on top of their game, willing to put their unbeaten records on the line to prove whos the better fighter. One things for sure in this fight, someones 0 is gonna go!. Amir Khan Vs Marcos Maidana is another good example of the best guys fighting each other at this weight class.

I do think that this fight has the potential to be a chess match. Both fighters are very sharp, very good boxers, so I think the fight will have a cagey start. However, this fight will warm up after a few rounds because both fighters are crowd pleasers and will take risks to give the people a good show, even more so with their being so much on the line.

Bradley has a huge hunger to take on the best fighters and I beleive he is the better fighter in this fight. He is unpredictable with his punches, has excellent body attacks, head movement, grit and sheer determination to win. Bradley's been knocked down in fights but has still climbed off the canvas to win the fight. Bradley does have the better "all round", more fluid boxing skills. Alexander will have to be at his best to beat Bradley.

This fight is by no means a walk over for Bradley. Alexander also has very good boxing skills, and has more punching power then Bradley. I know styles make fights but maybe Devon Alexanders last performance against Andreas Kotelnik is having an effect on my judgement for this fight. Not taking anything away from Kotelnik, he is a tough match for anyone in his weight class, he gave Marcos Maidana and Amir Khan tough fights, but Alexander, tipped as the next up and coming boxing star was meant to beat Kotelnik quite easily. Instead, this fight ended up being Alexanders toughest so far, and many people actually thought he lost. It was a very close fight, with many people saying Alexander's lack of experience showed in the fight and that he was exposed. Personally I think Alexander was very lucky to get the win, he clearly lost the fight by a few rounds.

Bradley Vs Alexander Who Wins?
I think Alexander will have some good moments in the fight, but Bradley will be the one pushing the action, on the front foot applying the pressure. This could see Bradley take some counter punches, but he is very elusive and I don't think he will be detered. I see Bradley taking the fight to Alexander, and in the process landing some really good, point scoring punches that see Bradley winning a clear decision on the scorecards.

The winner of this fight will most probably take on Amir Khan next. So, no matter who wins out of Bradley and Alexander we have another excellent fight to look forward to.
