As expected, Mosley started good, but faded fast. This fight did not live up to the hype at all. Once Manny Pacquiao was fighting at his own pace, trying to force the fight, Mosley had serious problems with the speed, and was basically in survival mode for most of the rounds. I asked myself: Did Mosley come to win this fight? Or just go the distance with Pacquiao. The amount of respect shown by both fighters was a bit of a joke. People wanted to see a fight, but what they got was a heated sparring
However, there were a few spots of action, the most notable was when Mosley was knocked down in the 3rd round by an excellent Pacquiao straight left hand. Pacman tried to force the stoppage by stepping on the gas, but Mosley, with all his experience and ring savvy was able to survive the round.
Mosley did cause Manny Pacquiao a few problems with his awkward and very negative boxing style, but this was more to do with Mosley just wanting to survive and not get hit, rather then being a real challenge for Manny. Mosley did not even want to trade punches.
I cannot beleive how negative Shane Mosley was in this fight, he couldn't pull the trigger at all, and was on the backfoot all night. This fight is best forgotten as quickly as possible.
Manny Pacquiao wins and could now face Juan Manuel Marquez later on this year. That should be a good, all action fight if it happens.
