ZHILEI ZHANG Interview for the Joe Joyce rematch. I BELIEVE THAT I WILL DESTROY JOE JOYCE ONCE AGAIN! Boxingzone.org. Should be a good fight. Both fighters deserve a title shot, and whoever wins the rematch should get one. But boxing politics might mean that the winner may have a long wait.

Tyson Fury Latest News [Fight Coming]
The latest news for Tyson Fury. The WBC champion put out a video today saying there's monstrous news to come about a big fight. Most "fans" are laughing at this, saying yeah big news, who is it Chisora 4 or a John McDermott rematch. All jokes aside, my opinion is it could potentially be either Francis Ngannou [former UFC champion] or Zhilei Zhang in China. The Ngannou fight is a mismatch. He has a punchers chance. The Zhang fight in China makes more sense, but I personally feel due to the style match up, that fight is also an easy win for Fury.
If he fights either of these fighters next, it does look like he is taking the easy fights. Everyone wanted the undisputed match with Usyk. But, things have moved on. Whatever the reasons, that fight couldn't get over the line and Usyk is fighting Daniel Dubois, so Fury has to fight someone also. Both the Ngannou and Zhang fights will potentially be huge though. One will bring a combination of boxing and UFC fans, the other brings the huge audience which is China into the mix.

Breaking News: Usyk Vs Fury Is Off
Breaking News: Usyk Vs Fury Is Off. Looks like the big heavyweight fight for undisputed that everyone wanted to see is not happening. Not now anyway, and maybe not ever. This is very disappointing, and does appear to be the fault of Tyson Fury. He will no doubt lose a lot of fans short term due to this. Usyk was prepared to take a smaller percentage of the split [30%] just to make the fight happen, but Fury apparently just keeps moving the goal posts and asking for more terms to be added to the contract. Such as, no rematch clause, and whatever else has been requested in private.
Seems very unreasonable, almost as if Fury never really wanted the fight to begin with and was surprised when Usyk accepted and agreed to all his demands. Maybe deep inside Fury he knows he just doesn't want this fight as much as Usyk does, and is worried that the lack of motivation will see him mentally and physically more unprepared than before, heading into the biggest fight possible. Here are a few comments from boxing fans:
"The guy even accepted a 30 split and Fury’s team can’t make it. Says it all"
"Usyk called his bluff, accepted 70/30 in favour of Tyson and he still found a way out."
"Everyone knew when Tyson kept making excuses this fight wouldn’t happen. usyk hasn’t ran he wanted to fight the big dosser"
"Fury has ducked him and its unforgivable. Total DOSSER"
"All the lies and contradictions have caught up with him."
"fury was the one ducking, like he gave AJ just 2 weeks to make a decision, its easy to fight a non boxer killer like deontay and look tough. when he has a real threat like otto wallin he gets bashed."
"Was a big Tyson fury funny fan but hes let us fans down over hes greed or fear of losing ! Well done usyk you've a new fan in me and a lot more"
"Well should we really be surprised it's off?... WBC should stop playing games and force Fury to defend or vacate."
"So fury got all the demands in the contract he wanted and still pulls out the fight.... Blatant duckin from fury"
"Usyk played a blinder by accepting Fury's offer of a 70-30 split. He knew Fury didn't want the fight. Inevitably it's fallen through; in the process Fury looks shockingly bad whilst Usyk wins the battle for the hearts and minds of the fans"
Everyone now eagerly awaits the next update to see what Fury's response will be. But from what has been revealed, it does seem like Fury has tried everything to stop this fight from happening. And only him, and possibly close members of his team / family know the real reasons behind that. Perhaps he has seen it all done it all, held all the belts before [not all at the same time though] etc, so doesn't have that hunger, or just has too much money and can't be bothered.

Maybe his ego has gotten too big and he feels that Usyk, being somewhat of a new-comer to the heavyweight division in comparison, is so far beneath him that he doesn't deserve a fair split. He has made comments hinting at this. Who knows for sure.
Video Update: Alex Krassyuk Exclusive on why the fight isn't happening
The time for this fight was now. The last undisputed fight at heavyweight was a few decades ago. Anything can and does happen in heavyweight boxing. This opportunity might not come back around again for years if the belts get split up. Such as shame as this was a true legacy fight for both men. Whoever won this match would have been the undefeated undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. That is some achievement. If that's not enough to motivate Fury anymore, he may as well retire from the sport.

Kell Brook Might Face Conor Benn
First off, the only thing I believe Conor Benn should be facing is the British Boxing Board Of Control. He has allegedly tested positive for a banned substance, not once but twice, and it has been completely brushed under the carpet. It's a total shambles and puts boxing in a bad place. Despite saying he will clear his name and has all the evidence, he still hasn't proved his innocence. With the muddying of waters, threatening legal action / law suits against the board and letting time conveniently go by, it does appear like he will get off Scott-free with no ban whatsoever and even be catapulted straight into a big money fight with either Manny Pacquiao or Kell Brook. There's also some talk about a potential Chris Eubank Jr fight.
He does not deserve to fight any of these men. I guess it really helps when you have a big name in the sport combined with a moralless, hypocrite, snake of a promoter. If the fight does go ahead with either Pacquiao or Brook, even though its quite disgraceful because they are both coming out of retirement, I hope Conor Benn gets an absolute beating. He has been terrible through this whole PED saga, acting like an entitled spoilt little brat with the -I'm the victim mentality. And not once has he apologised to the fans or presented any credible evidence to back up his claim of not taking any banned substance.
Any fight involving Conor Benn should be boycotted until he either proves his innocence or serves a lengthy ban. But with how corrupt boxing is, he won't have to do neither. I wonder if drug testing will be in place for Conor's next fight, his comeback fight. I mean, is it really necessary, nothing happens if the test is positive anyway.

Fun aside, what's the latest of his fight with Usyk? Well, apparently the fight is close to being officially announced as some people are saying Frank Warren [Fury's promoter] hinted that it may be confirmed before the deadline of April 1st 2023. If the fight is not confirmed by the deadline Usyk will have to enter into talks with regular WBA champion Daniel Dubois, who is mandatory challenger for a shot at Usyk's Super WBA heavyweight title.

Lucas Browne TKO'd Vs Big Baby Miller
After his well documented PED failures, and with many people saying he should be banned for life, Jarrell "Big Baby" Miller made his return to the ring in late June 2022. Since then he has fought journey men on his come back trail. On 18th March 2023 his level of opposition increased somewhat when he took on Australian heavyweight Lucas Browne in Dubai and stopped him via TKO. See the video below.
While Browne is much more decorated on paper than Millers previous two opponents, Browne is completley shot to bits and should have retired years ago. So this win doesn't really prove much. Miller came in very heavy [around 330lbs], and it is unclear whether there was any drug testing for this fight. It will be interesting to see how Miller performs against better heavyweights, with drug testing in place, who are ranked higher and not at the tail end of their careers.

Beterbiev Clapping Press Ups
Looks like Beterbiev may have to fight Callum Smith rather than the fight we all wanted to see which was against Bivol for all the belts. Seems silly really, as since Smith got battered by Canelo, he hasn't really done anything significant to earn a title shot. But I guess that's the power of having Eddie Hearn as your promoter, he can pull all the strings. He can make things appear out of nowhere, and also disappear as if it never happened. A bit like a magician. Anyway, Beterbiev's training routines are intense. Some of the tyre workouts he does are crazy. Check out Beterbiev doing some clapping Press Ups / Pushups.

Did USYK Get Knocked Out In Sparring
Professional boxer Martin Bakole, who has been one of Oleksander Usyk's sparring partners has come out and said that he knocked out / stopped USYK in one of their sparring sessions. He also claimed to have stopped Daniel Dubois is sparring also. Martin Bakole is in the who needs him club. While he has had one or two decent wins, the most recent being a good, dominant performance over French Heavyweight Tony Yoka, Bakole's boxing career has been quite slow. He is yet to really prove himself against the top fighters. And him and his team are confident and very eager to take on the best in the division and get his name more well-known.
So his revelations on these sparring sessions are seen by some as an attempt to market himself and increase his profile. Are the rumours true, who knows for sure. But sparring is sparring. It's not the same as an all-out fight under the bright lights. In some ways Martin Bakole has shot himself in the foot, because its unlikely now that both USYK and Dubois would welcome him back into a training camp after this. Unless they either don't care about him saying this, have trouble finding good sparring partners, or they wanted to spar him again to set the record straight.

But like the old saying goes: What happens in the gym stays in the gym. Or, that's how it used to be at least. Fighters are violating that rule more and more. These days there's a new boxer coming out every week with a sparring story about how they buzzed or put someone down.

Bartley Gorman's Nephew Ricky Gorman
With one win under his belt as a professional boxer, Bartley Gorman's Nephew, Ricky Gorman gives us a little insight into his life growing up, including how he got into boxing. It's very early days yet, but being from a traveller background, related to Tyson Fury, and with the former Bare Knuckle Champion being his uncle, could he be the next Tyson Fury in the making. Seems like a nice enough chap. Certainly one to keep an eye on. Hope he does well.

Tyson Fury / USYK Round Up Video
There's been a lot of back and forth videos between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk. And its mostly to do with purse splits, rematch clauses and fight dates. The fight still isn't confirmed yet, and the supposed date for the fight is fast approaching. So will it actually happen on April 29th. We'll have to wait and see what happens over the next few weeks. With Fury now apparently being in camp and saying he is about to come off all social media, it surely means this fight is going to be confirmed soon, as I can't see him making all this effort if he has no intention of fighting on April 29th.
However, as much as I like Tyson and do actually want him to win this fight, Fury is a master of mind games, contradictions and erratic behaviour. But he is smart and crafty. So could this all be for show? Does he really want the fight, or is he setting the stage to make it look like he really wanted it, and when it falls through he can say he's really disappointed and its not his fault. Putting the blame on Usyk and his team.
I guess we'll have to wait and see. But in saying that, throughout these talks between the two sides, how do we really know who is telling the truth. I mean, so many people think Fury is the one holding up the fight, and as a result many fans have turned against him, hoping he loses.
But Usyk's promoter, Alexander Krassyuk admitted in an interview with Boxing Social if my memory serves me correctly, that him and his team [I think the lawyers etc] did mention the rematch clause when in recent negotiations, but then Usyk said in a response video that the rematch talk came from Fury's side. Either way, whoever is telling the truth, I just hope the fight can be made and we get the undisputed fight next. Because if it doesn't happen now, with mandatory's being called, it may not happen for a while.

Full Canelo Vs John Ryder Press Conference
So far this fight has gone somewhat under the radar. John Ryder isn't very well known in America, and Canelo has been out for some time with an injury. Nobody really expects Ryder to win, and while he may not win, it's entirely possible that he may do better than most think he will. He is a good fighter. Many boxing fans in the UK think he beat Callum Smith, but was robbed on the score cards. Ryder also "beat" Daniel Jacobs. But just like the old saying goes, "what comes around goes around". Almost everyone feels that Ryder was given a gift decision in that fight. But whatever, it was very close. Ryder will get his shot at all the belts against Canelo in GUADALAJARA Mexico. Which happens to be his home town / place of birth.
We all know that fighting at home can sometimes bring more pressure, and Canelo has been out for a while, so could the timing be right for John Ryder. I highly doubt it. Canelo has so much experience and will, or should be a bit too quick and skilled for Ryder. But it should be a good fight. This is Ryders big chance to become the undisputed champion, so he will give it everything. Prediction: Mid to late stoppage for Canelo. I was surprised to see that Ryder is slightly taller than Canelo. And strangely, they actually look alike! Almost like long lost brothers!

Boxer Is Juggernaut From The X-Men
That boxer is none other than the UK's Joe "The Juggernaut" Joyce. It does look really funny, has me laughing every time I see it. Most people don't know what it is referring to. The video uploader [Frank Warren's Queensberry YouTube Channel] calls it a plant pot! But I believe it's actually in reference to the Juggernaut From The X-Men marvel comics. It's certainly something a bit different. I think its made of plastic, not metal! Props to whoever made it. Looks like it fits really well. He can see through the holes properly and everything.

Joe Joyce Confronted By His Next Opponent
Joe "The Juggernaut" Joyce Interview Gatecrashed by his next opponent, which is the biggest and best Chinese heavyweight Zhilei Zhang. This is a great fight. A great clash of styles. Joyce has that granite chin and excellent engine, and "Big Bang" Zhang is a superb counter puncher, with good punch resistance and huge knockout power. Problem with Zhang is he tires quite badly in the later rounds, so most people favour Joyce to get the job done. But as a 6 round fighter Zhilei Zhang is very dangerous. He's very talented. And I would not be surprised if Joyce touches the canvas or gets seriously rocked in this fight. Don't miss it.
In terms of who I want to win, this is a tough one for me. I really like Joe Joyce, great guy, good solid fighter. But I'm also a Zhang fan. I really admire his skills. So I guess I'll just have to say, may the best man win!

Boxing Reflex Ball Hat / Headbands
If you're into boxing you may have seen some of the best, [arguably within the top 10 or 20 pound for pound] boxers in the world (Artur Beterbiev and Vasyl Lomachenko to quickly name two) wearing a strange but simple device that consists of a cap, some elasticated string with a tennis ball attached to the end. After seeing this you might have thought to yourself, that's cool, where can I buy one of those.
Buy or DIY? Well, oddly, given how simple they are to make (you can easily make your own), for quite a while they weren't available to buy in many of the major online web stores in the UK, but now due to the demand increasing, they have started hitting the shelves in considerable numbers. This is great news for people who are interested in effectively increasing their reflexes, hand to eye co-ordination and punch accuracy at one of the cheapest price points possible. Although some might not think it because it could be passed off as a child's toy to those who don't know about them, this simple device is very effective. There's a reason why boxers who are at the pinnacle of the sport are using these.
They are excellent for sharpening reflexes and reaction time, and perfect for enhancing hand to eye coordination and accuracy. If you're someone who just randomly punches a bag to stay in shape, and doesn't do any sparring or other work, including pad work, using the speed ball, floor to ceiling, etc, chances are you are just hitting the bag without much thought for where the punches are landing, other than high, low or straight or side. That's where the Tennis Ball Punching Cap / Headband comes into play.
This device somewhat bridges the gap. A moving target really makes the brain work harder. Rather than just punching hard, the person has to actually think and concentrate in order to hit the ball with any consistency.
Now you may be thinking, in the title it says "cap" but what is shown in some of the pictures of the product is basically a headband. Yes that's correct. But you can attach the headband to fit around a cap, if that's how you want to use it. You can also buy different model variations which are not a headband at all, but actually a cap with the elasticated string, and ball, fixed directly to the front.
Like everything in boxing that requires a high level of synchronicity, it's difficult to begin with. But just like with a floor to ceiling ball, once you get in tune with the rhythm and get the timing down, it gets much much easier. However, if you want to truly master this device it will take some time. If you look at how Sergey Kovalev (video below) and Vasyl Lomachenko are able to successfully hit the ball while bouncing on the balls of their feet (in a skipping motion), this is much harder than hitting the ball while stationary (feet planted). Practice Practice Practice!
Even though it is a cheaply priced product, so you won't lose much money if it breaks quickly, you still don't want to waste money on something that just falls apart after a week. There is no actual product "reviewed", or pictured here, but just read through the reviews on Amazon UK / USA or Argos UK to check which ones have a good track record. There used to be one for sale called the Boxaball. That had pretty decent reviews. Same with some of the Rival brand examples.
However, both do have a small percentage of buyers who say it broke very quickly. Just like with any product, this is fairly normal. But with how easy it is to make one of these, you could very quickly make your own and really put some effort into creating a super reliable version for very little money outlay. In fact, probably for free by using bits and pieces you already have a home. Buy or DIY, the choice is yours. Either way, this is a great tool for sharpening the mind and body to work in unison with each other. Can also be a lot of fun, too!
