Amir Khan Vs Dmitriy Salita
Amir Khan makes the first defense of his WBA title against Dmitriy Salita on Saturday 5th December in Newcastle, UK. Also on the undercard, a very interesting fight between Breidis Prescott Vs Kevin Mitchell. Prescott is, if you don't already know, the guy that knocked out Amir Khan in less then a minute of the first round in their fight 15 months ago. Since then Prescott has lost one fight, but he lost it to one of the most awkward fighters you will ever see in your life. From watching that fight myself, i think it's safe to say that Prescott is not on the slip, and Kevin Mitchell could find himself in deep water on Saturday.
Ok, back to the Khan Vs Salita fight. Who is this Salita. Well, he is from Brooklyn NY, originally from Ukraine. His boxing record is 30-0-1, that's 30 wins, no losses, 1 draw. He is also very nice guy, very respectful and very religious. But as nice as he is, it must be said. He has a blown up boxing record, many of the fighters he has beaten are all unheard of. And even against these no namers he was put down on the canvas a few times. The 1 draw was also against an unheard of fighter. Im not saying he is totally rubbish, because he's not. But he is about 3 levels below Amir Khan's boxing skills, speed and ability.
Amir Khan has come on leaps and bounds since joining forces with Freddy Roach, and i see Amir Khan totally destroying Dmitriy Salita within 8-10 rounds, possibly earlier. Dmitriy Salita is too slow in every department, footwork, punches, defense etc. Dmitriy Salita has been given this title chance, and rightly so, i mean he is 30-0. But this is too big a step up at this moment for Salita, specially with the class of opponents he is used to fighting. If he pulls off a win by managing to expose Khan's much talked about vunerability- his chin, then hats off to him, but the chances are slim.
Prediction: Amir Khan will Knock Dmitriy Salita out.

Amir Khan Vs Dmitriy Salita Weigh In
Dmitriy Salita had to srtip naked to make the weight, when he did, he made the weight bang on - 10 Stone exactly.
Amir Khan made the weight perfectly.
Both fighters looked in great shape and ready to go, although it must be said that people are saying Dmitriy Salita struggled to make the weight, i guess we will find out on Saturday.
This should be a great fight!

Floyd Mayweather Vs Manny Pacquiao
Floyd Mayweather Vs Manny Pacquiao
Will Floyd Mayweather fight Manny Pacquiao? From the amount of worldwide interest in this fight it just has to happen. Thanks mainly to the internet, millions and millions of people, some that weren't even boxing fans before Manny Pacquiao became such a well known, and much admired boxing superstar, want to see this fight.
This fight screams money, lots of it. I would say this fight has a big chance of generating the biggest amount of PPV buys ever seen. It will probably be the biggest money fight of all time. This fight is global, the whole world wants and waits for this fight. No matter who wins, both fighters will be very rich after the fight (as if they weren't already!).
Floyd Mayweather is such a money lover there is no way he will be able to resist the tempation of a showdown with Manny Pacquiao. In an interview i seen recently of Floyd talking about Pacquiao and the possibility of fighting him, Floyd seemed slightly scared in my opinion, like he knows Pacquiao is an elite fighter, and that he will be tested like never before if he agrees to fight Pacquiao.
If Floyd does not fight Pacquiao he will lose a lot of respect from everyone involved in boxing, from the fans to the promoters, and everyone else including the fighters. Many people already consider Floyd to have ducked a considerable amount of fighters already, and with the world watching and wanting this fight like never before, he has to step up to the plate.
If Manny Pacquiao wins, there is no doubt that he is the true pound for pound number one boxer on the planet. He has already acheived so much inside and outside the ring, and Mannys legacy is secured. But there is just this one niggling question people are asking..Can he beat Floyd Mayweather. Once this question has been answered, and if he does beat Floyd, Manny Pacquiao has to be one of the best boxers of all time.
Lets not forget how good Floyd Mayweather is though, this is a big ask of Manny Pacquiao. Floyd's skills are top notch, and to beat him will be tough because if Floyd can't beat Manny by going toe to toe, he will go into his shell, stay on the outside, and win this fight by a decision, boring yes, but getting the win.
I just hope Floyd Mayweathers outrageous purse split expectations don't get in the way of this potential superfight.
***UPDATE***UPDATE***UPDATE***
**Floyd Mayweather Vs Manny Pacquiao is confirmed.** The fight will take place in the spring of next year. Some well respected boxing experts are saying the first week of May 2010. There is way too much money at stake for the fight not to have happened. I can't wait for this fight!
Manny Pacquiao is the favorite to win this fight. The date is now said to have changed to September 2010

Andre Ward Stops Mikkel Kessler
Andre Ward Stops Mikkel Kessler By TKO Due to Cuts By Head Butts
An impressive win by the NEW WBA Super Middleweight Champion of the world - Andre Ward. Mikkel Kessler didn't have an answer from the first bell, he was totally dominated. Andre Ward was too fast, too athletic, and moved in and out too quickly for Kessler to land any of his counter punches. When Kessler did get through Andre Ward done a good job of holding and spoling any clean shots from landing. Mikkel Kessler seemed very limited, even pretty slow, and kept of trying the same things which didn't work for him. Mikkel Kessler was caught cleanly frequently, and did look hurt in some rounds.
Andre Ward, whether intentional or not, fought quite a dirty fight, holding a lot, and flying in head first on occasions, causing cuts above both eyes of Mikkel Kessler. These cuts were the reason the fight had to be stopped in the 11th round of the contest. The cuts didn't affect the end result though because Kessler lost almost every round anyway, and he was getting totally dominated. Kessler was also looking for a way out, complaining a lot in the later rounds. It really wasn't Kesslers night tonight. Credit to Kessler, he showed heart carrying on, even though he had two cut eyes, one being a nasty deep gash, also being way behind on the scorecards.
Andre Ward fought a great fight, showing great boxing skills, great movement, and good stamina. He was also respectful of Mikkel Kessler, and seemed like a nice guy in the interview after the fight. He wasn't brash or cocky, which is what i like to see in a boxer. He showed some impressive boxing skills and smart ring craft, only making a few mistakes as he got tired. Im sure we will be seeing many more good fights from him in the super six tournament and beyond.
Mikkel Kessler was not happy after the fight, he was moaning about the head butts and tying up. But to be honest, even if there was no head butts or tying up, i don't think the end result would of been different in terms of who the winner was. Mikkel Kessler clearly got schooled by a young fighter who was too elusive to catch cleanly. Im sure Mikkel Kessler will bounce back from this, he fights Carl Froch next and will want to prove he is not washed up. Both Carl Froch and Mikkel Kessler are brawlers, and styles make fights, so i think that will be a very interesting match up.

Mikkel Kessler Vs Andre Ward
Mikkel Kessler Vs Andre Ward
Andre Ward Beats Kessler...Read more..
With all the huge fights that have been taking place recently, this fight has been slightly over shadowed. Never the less, this will be one hell of a fight. Mikkel Kessler is arguably the main man at Super Middleweight, with only one loss onhis record, and that was a loss on points to Super Middleweight King Joe Calzaghe. We can safely say, Mikkel Kessler has fought much better opposition then Andre Ward. But as we all know, or should know by now, styles make fights, and i think Andre Ward has the style to cause Mikkel Kessler a lot of problems.
Many experienced boxing experts and observers beleive that Andre Ward is one the best talents they have seen in a long time. He's got it all, superb boxing skills, fast footed, quick minded, fast hands, and also packs decent punching power. But can he beat Mikkel Kessler? Well, that depends on how he handles such a big event, and what gameplan he brings. If he has too much to prove and trys to go toe to toe with Mikkel Kessler he will get knocked out in spectacular fashion. If he boxes, uses his superb boxing skills and movement he will win this fight on points easily. Mikkel Kessler does not deal with slick boxing skills too good, he likes opponents to stand in close and be still for long periods of time. Andre Ward can do the opposite and capitalise on Kesslers weakness - Boxers with good Movement.
This will be a great fight. Mikkel Kessler's WBA Super middleweight belt is on the line, and Kessler is fighting in Andre Wards backgarden. Oakland, which is Andre Ward's home town.
Prediction: I beleive this is a huge fight for both fighters, but in particular i beleive it's much bigger for Andre Ward. Mikkel Kessler has fought in huge fights already, and i think this will be the deciding factor for Andre Ward. He will be too eager to please and end up with his foot on the gas for the first 5 rounds and be winning the fight. But because of Mikkel Kessler's experience, he will bide his time and wait for Andre Ward to slow down, then Kessler will open up on Ward. Does Andre Ward have the experience and punch resistance to be able to take, or nutralize Mikkel Kesslers huge range of power punches, somehow i just don't think so. A tough fight for both boxers but Mikkel Kessler wins by knockout.

Ricky Hatton Vs Juan Manuel Marquez Fight Rumors
Ricky Hatton Vs Juan Manuel Marquez Fight Rumors
There are rumors going around that Ricky Hatton is making a comeback to the ring..These rumors are from a reliable source, Niall Hickman, the writer of a Ricky Hatton autobiography. This fight between Ricky Hatton and Juan Manuel Marquez is expected to take place in the summer of 2010 in Manchester, UK. This is quite a good match up on paper because both fighters have lost to Floyd Mayweather Jr, and both fighters have also lost to Mr unstoppable - Manny Pacquiao. Although Juan Manuel Marquez did much much better in his fights with the pacman, and i must add that in the second fight Marquez had with Pacquiao i thought Marquez won.
Is this a good move for Ricky Hatton, jumping in with a guy as experienced as Juan Manuel Marquez, after having such a long period out of the ring, and getting knocked out in his last fight. I think it's a big risk. One other concern for Ricky Hatton is the way he looks at the moment, you can see he has not been keeping in shape. He looks very overweight. It's not good to live the way he lives when he's not fighting, ballooning up to heavyweight, then back down to light welterweight.
Ricky Hatton needs to live in the gym from now until the fight to stand any chance at all against Marquez. I do beleive Ricky is damaged goods, the way he got knocked out in his last fight with Manny Pacquiao was brutal, and not good for him mentally. I fear he could get the same type of fight with Marquez, if he's not careful he could get knocked out again. I was watching an interview with Ricky Hatton the other day and he said that he thought he was winning the second round against Manny Pacquiao until the knockout! He must be living in dreamland...I also remember him saying the same thing about his fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. He actually thought he was winning most of the fight! I am a Ricky Hatton fan but let's be real..There is no way he was winning the fight with Floyd, and no way he was winning that second round against Pacquiao.
Credit where it's due, Hatton has had a good boxing career, and his only losses have come to the two best boxers in the sport today. But personally i would like him to stay retired, more for his safety. He is, and always will be a "jump in head first brawler" type of boxer, this style will only get you so far. This is the boxing style for a short boxing career because you take way too many punches to the head.
Ricky Hatton has already took too many punches, and we seen how long his "new boxing style" lasted when under the coaching of Floyd Mayweather Sr. It lasted for one fight, that being the fight with Paulie Mallignaggi. After that he went back to his old self again. But i suppose Ricky is his own man, if he wants to fight again then he's going to fight again. I wish him luck.
No one knows if this fight is certain to take place yet. So no one knows who will train Ricky Hatton if the fight should take place. I would say though it would probably be the same trainers as his brother Matthew, which is Lee Beard and his team.
Ricky Hatton Vs Juan Manuel Marquez should be an OK fight. But it's not a fight to go crazy for.

Manny Pacquiao Stops Miguel Cotto In The 12th Round
Manny Pacquiao Stops Miguel Cotto In The 12th Round
Manny Pacquiao Stops Miguel Cotto In the 12th round after taking a huge amount of punishment through out most of the fight. The first few rounds were pretty even and Cotto did land some good punches in the early rounds, his jab was effective. But Manny Pacquiao proved he can take some good solid punches from a full blown, powerful Welterweight. Miguel Cotto was knocked down twice in the early rounds, but got off the canvas to keep on fighting, showing good courage and fighting spirit.
Manny Pacquiao boxed superb. He was too fast. and too strong. Cotto's strength and power seemed to drain pretty quickly, which was surprising. I thought it would be the other way round. Cotto was on the retreat from about the 7th round onwards. It seemed like he was in survival mode, and just wanted to hear the last bell. But it wasn't to be..From the 8th round onwards Cotto's face was a mess, his eyes were swollen, he had a cut eye and bloodied mouth, the referee was concerned for Cotto. But Cotto kept fighting, throwing punches going backwards in retreat mode. In the 12th round the referee decided to end the fight when Cotto was taking too many unanswered punches, and was also way too behind on the scorecards to win the fight. It would of been nice to see Cotto finish the fight, even though he wouldn't of won on the cards. Cotto's pride was hurt, specially as it was stopped in the 12th round. I thought the referee should of let him finish the fight.
Cotto did not retire, he wanted to keep on fighting. He showed great heart even though he was getting beat up pretty badly. So, who next for Manny Pacquiao? Many people, including Freddy roach, said they want Floyd Mayweather Jr. So many people want to see this fight that it just has to happen, and i cant wait!
Manny Pacquiao is totally unstoppable at the moment. He is one of the best boxers ever. Winning this title has placed him into the record books for being a SEVEN weight World Champion!.
Can Manny Pacquiao beat Floyd Mayweather Jr ?..I'd have to say yes he can.

Lovemore Ndou Vs Matthew Hatton Ends In A Draw
Lovemore Ndou Vs Matthew Hatton Ends In A Draw
This was a very close fight, and as you can see from the result very tough to score. Matthew Hatton started off OK, but after a while most of his work was sloppy, and nothing landed clean, or with much power. When he did land a power shot you just got the feeling that he never had the power to hurt Lovemore Ndou. Matthew Hatton was the busier fighter through out most of the fight, and i thought he did deserve the win.
Lovemore Ndou did land the cleaner and more powerful punches through out the whole fight, some good combinations too. But he just wasn't busy enough. This was the best performance of Matthew Hattons boxing career, which is a good compliment beings that he was taking a huge step up in class fighting Lovemore Ndou.
Lovemore Ndou keeps his title and Matthew Hatton goes back to the drawing board. Lovemore Ndou did offer Matthew Hatton a rematch in either Australia or South Africa, so we will see what happens. I think Matthew Hatton said "if I can't win in the UK on the scorecards, what chance do I stand in Australia or South Africa". I'd have to agree with you Matthew!

Manny Pacquiao Vs Miguel Cotto
Manny Pacquiao Vs Miguel Cotto
After just watching the David Haye Vs Nikolai Valuev fight and being tempted to skip through rounds because there was just no action. I am pleased to say we have a much more action packed fight on our hands between Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto taking place this weekend. Tickets are available from Ticket Network.
I beleive this will be the fight of the year. This is a very exciting fight, and i truely beleive it could be won by either fighter. Now i know what your thinking..Cotto got destroyed by Margarito, so you think thats makes him vunerable. But lets not forget the plaster of paris wraps worn by Margarito. Now many people think that the beating Cotto took at the hands of margarito has made him less of a fighter, but i don't think so. Cotto has convinced himself, it was the plaster of paris wraps that played a huge role in him losing that fight, and he is right to think that. I mean, did you see the state of Cotto's face!?
Cotto doesn't see it as he got beat fair and square, if he did then maybe it would of took a lot out of him as a fighter, but he see's it as Margarito cheated. So you could argue that he never really lost that fight and it should be classed as a no contest. You must also not forget, after that beating, Cotto has something to prove, that is why i think Cotto, with the right gameplan has a good chance of winning this fight.
Miguel Cotto is the naturally bigger guy, he has consistently fought at heavier weight classes and he packs some serious punching power. We all know that Manny Pacquiao has been troubled by much smaller guys, with far less punching power then Miguel Cotto. But this was a long time ago, Manny Pacquiao has been on fire over the last few years, beating everyone he has faced. There is no way i am going to say Manny won't win this fight, he has proven me wrong too many times! Everyone, including me thought Oscar De La Hoya would be too big and too strong, we were all proven wrong. Manny Pacquiao's speed and power were too much. I know you can say De La Hoya was dead at the weight, at the end of his career etc. But Manny beat him up fair and square, no excuses. Then we move on to Ricky Hatton. I had wrote Manny Pacquiao off in that fight, i thought Hatton was too rough and brutal, way too strong for Pacquiao, how wrong i was. Manny Pacquiao cannot be written off against any fighter, he is that good.
Manny Pacquiao Vs Miguel Cotto - Who Wins?
First off all, like i said, this fight could be won by either fighter, it all depends on gameplans, and knowing Freddy Roach, the gameplan will be speed, fast punches in clusters then get out of the way to avoid Cotto's body breaking shots. Pretty similar to the game plan David Haye used against Nikolai Valuev, but in a mini version, and with Manny Pacquiao taking more risks, making it more of a fight.
If Manny Pacquiao can execute that fight plan he wins by points hand down. Cotto is too slow to compete with Manny for speed and he knows it, so hopefully the Cotto camp will be looking for clever, fast counter punching pressure. If Cotto can walk Manny down and land punches he will have Manny in serious trouble.
From what i have seen in interviews with Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto in the build up, it seems like they both want to have a war! This will suit Cotto down to the ground. If Manny stands his ground rather then punching and getting out of range it's all over for Manny Pacquiao. Manny can't compete with Cotto for power, just like Cotto cant beat Manny for speed.
Even Freddy Roach has not put a prediction on this fight..He did on the last two and got them both almost spot on correct. He knows Cotto is a serious threat and if Manny trades with him, or slows down at any point in the fight he could get knocked out.
Make no mistake, this is a very close fight, almost too close to call. Both fighters have great skills and they are closely matched in ability, but at opposite ends of the spectrum. Cotto has serious power, and Manny has lightning speed.
Prediction: I think Manny is too smart to stand toe to toe with Miguel Cotto, he will instead box clever with fast punches, fast footwork in and out, and win this fight by points.
If Manny Pacquiao does win this fight, i think he will go down in the record books as one of the best boxers ever. When you consider the weight he started boxing at, and seeing some of the boxers he has beaten recently, it really is a great achievement.
Manny Pacquiao Vs Miguel Cotto will be a great fight and i cannot wait to see it! This is a serious clash of styles. May the best man win.
The only other fight i would like to see Manny Pacquiao in if he wins this fight would be against Floyd Mayweather Jr. Now that is the fight everyone want's to see.

Manny Pacquiao Vs Miguel Cotto Weigh In
Both fighters looked in superb shape, ready to go to war. They had to shut the doors because so many people wanted to attend the weigh in to get a look at the fighters. It looked like Freddy Roach and Joe Santiago were having an argument in the background.
Freddy Roach did not make any predictions in the build up to the fight, but now he has been talking all kinds of crazy predictions. Freddy even said Manny will KO Cotto in the first round! Then Freddy Roach said Manny will not get touched all night, and will knock Cotto out at some point in the fight.. Freddy Roach has been correct too many times, he knows his boxing, so nothing can be ruled out. We will just have to wait and see what happens.
This will be a great fight. Do not miss it!

Fedor Emelianenko Knocks Out Brett Rogers
Fedor Emelianenko Knocks Out Brett Rogers - StrikeForce
After an all action first round Fedor knocks Brett Rogers out with a huge punch to the chin in the second round. In the first round Fedor was caught with a solid jab from Brett Rogers that split Fedors nose instanty. There was a lot of blood coming from Fedors nose. Fedor was able to punch, then throw Rogers to the floor. Fedor also caught Rogers with another huge punch and then the same tactic again, he throws Rogers instantly afterwards, catching him off balance, some ground and pound followed this but nothing clean landed except a few good punches to the face of Fedor, at which point Fedor dodged anymore punishment by going for an armbar. Brett Rogers is so big and strong he was able to reverse a Kimura attempt by Fedor. Brett Rogers looked tired at the end of the first round. Some great throws by Fedor, he uses them very effectively right after throwing punches, he showed great strength being able to throw Brett Rogers around like he did.
The second round started off cagey, both fighters feeling each other out throwing a few punches, but then after a clinch the fight went to the cage fence, both men holding each other looking for a good position. But once seperated, not by the referee (John McCarthy), but from Rogers pushing away to get the fight back into the middle, both Fedor and Rogers were bouncing around ready to fight when all of a sudden Fedor lunged forward, with his head and body nicely tucked to the side and delivered a huge knockout punch (overhand right) to the side of Brett Rogers chin, sending Brett Rogers to the canvas for the first time in his MMA career. Fedor followed up with more punches, Rogers was in no position to continue and the referee jumped in and stopped the fight. The punch that Fedor caught Rogers with was perfect. Brett Rogers just folded. I think many people expected Brett Rogers to be the one delivering that kind of punch to Fedor.
I was a little shocked that Fedor won the fight by a knockout from punches. I fully expected Fedor to submit Rogers. This was even more impressive by Fedor as he actually beat Brett Rogers at his own game - Punching!
There is no shame for Brett Rogers losing to Fedor Emelianenko, he is after all, the best all round MMA fighter in the world. Very impressive performance by Fedor Emelianenko.

David Haye Beats Nikolay Valuev To Claim The WBA Heavyweight Title
David Haye Beats Nikolay Valuev To Claim The WBA Heavyweight Title
David Haye has managed to slay the giant, not by knocking him out, but by getting the decision in Germany! Who would of thought it. David Haye fought a very clever fight, moving around, slipping punches and making Valuev miss all night.
David Haye did not land the knockout punches like he thought he would, although he did land the cleaner, more quality shots through a lot of the rounds. Valuev was just too slow for someone as fast as David Haye. In the 12th round David Haye did wobble Valuev, but the experience of Nikolai Valuev was enough to save him, grabbing David Haye and holding on in order to clear his head.
David Haye actually hurt his hand in the second round, this is why he did not go for the knockout as much as he said he was going to in the build up to the fight. I think Haye hurting his hand was the best piece of luck for David Haye, it made him fight the gameplan he needed to fight to win, moving around the ring, dodging the big punches and holds, and not giving Valuev a chance to plant his feet to punch. Also not getting tied up and tired out with the clinching from the 23 Stone Russian Giant. There was almost no holding all night.
All the rounds were pretty slow, with not many punches landing for either fighter. But in the judges eyes, the only eyes that really count, Haye did enough to snatch the WBA Heavyweight Champion chip of the world from Valuev. David Haye is now in a superb position in the heavyweight division. Haye can now take on the Klitschko brothers without having to accept such a raw deal, he now has a belt of his own. A belt that the Klitschko's would like like to add to their collection. I see a fight between Haye and both Klitschko brothers in the near future, possibly Hayes next fight at heavyweight.
The NEW WBA Heavyweight Champion Of The World - David Haye!!!

Sam Sexton Beats Martin Rogan
Sam Sexton Beats Martin Rogan
In an all action fight, which was OK while it lasted, Sam Sexton gets win number 2 over Martin Rogan. I am very disappointed in Martin Rogan, he let his heart rule his head. Rogan has been very angry at Sam Sexton in the build up to this rematch between the two. He let all the heated talk eat him up by fighting way too aggressively, he basically punched himself out and couldn't come out for the second half of the fight.
I think this showed a lack of experience from Martin Rogan. Sexton wasn't even a real threat in any rounds, choosing to just cover up and take all that Rogan had to dish out, but mostly all the head shots delivered from Rogan were blocked by the gloves of Sexton. However, Rogan did land some good body shots and a few decent head punches, but he put so much into mauling and man handling in the early rounds he totally gassed himself out. At 38 years old, Rogan should probably hang up the gloves now, i can't see him getting any better at his age. Sam Sexton fought a good gameplan and i would go as far as to say he had a pretty easy nights work.
I am convinced that if Martin Rogan would of fought more controlled he would have won this fight. But i guess it just wasn't to be. Rogan tried to get Sexton out of there too early, using too much energy and not enough thinking, and he paid the price for it.

David Haye Vs Nikolay Valuev Weigh In
The fight is almost here! David Haye Vs Nikolay Valuev has generated world wide interest. If Daivd Haye wins this fight he will be at the top of the heavyweight division instantly. This is a must win for Haye. If Haye does not win he will have a tough road back, he will have to get in line and earn a heavyweigh title shot.
At the Weigh In David Haye looked, as always, in superb shape. He weighed 15 stone 8 pounds on the scales.
David Haye Vs Nikolay Valuev Weigh In
Nikolay Valuev looked quite a lot slimmer then what i have seen him look in the past. He weighed 22 Stone 7 Pounds, which is very light for Nikolay Valuev. David Haye is giving away a huge weight difference to Valuev. This is a career heaviest for David Haye by 1Lb.
The stare down between the two was intense, neither wanted to look away and show any weakness. This should be an excellent fight. With David Haye weighing 15 Stone 8Lbs, i think that confirms that he is looking for the knockout, he is not going to be able to run around the ring all night weighing that much, he is used to fighting much lighter. Valuev has lost some weight, so he is looking for that extra bit of speed in order to be able to catch up with Haye through out the fight.
I was quite surprised to hear boos for Nikolai Valuev, this fight is in Germany so you would of thought there would be much more Valuev fans. But hey, the UK boxing fans are the loudest in the world.

Fedor Emelianenko Vs Brett Rogers
Fedor Emelianenko Vs Brett Rogers
Fedor Knocks Out Brett Rogers.....Read More
This fight takes place on Saturday November 7th. Fedor Emelianenko, in my opinion is the best MMA fighter in the world. He has the best all round skills. Many people, including many experts also consider Fedor to be the best out there. But we must not forget, Fedor Emelianenko is only human. He has been rocked by punches on a few occasions, but credit where credit is due, he has always found a way to win, and that's what makes Fedor so good. He has great power, superb wrestling and submission skills, and also never gives up.
Brett Rogers
Theres one word that springs to mind when i think about Brett Rogers. Powerhouse. This guy is seriously strong and packs some super punching power, and when you consider the size of the gloves worn in MMA fighting you can see why he has so many knockouts under his belt. He has the same sort of body type as Brock Lesnar, the huge chest and torso, he is also a very big guy standing 6 foot 5". Brett Rogers is not very comfortable on the ground, he is more of a stand "toe to toe" and slug it out type of fighter.
Fedor Emelianenko
I have been reading a lot lately about what the press have been saying about Fedor, things like he's slipping, getting old. He was in trouble against Andre Arlovski etc..Personally i think everyone saying this stuff is just trying to find faults with Fedor. Look at the way all the fights ended, mostly all KO's or submissions. Their making a big deal about Fedor getting caught a few times. This is MMA, people do get caught with blows, it's how they fight back after they get caught with shots, that's the main thing.
Fedor Emelianenko vs. Brett Rogers - Who Wins?
I beleive if Fedor fights smart and takes Brett Rogers to the ground, we will see Fedor submit Rogers pretty easily. If however, Fedor decides to stand and trade punches with Rogers, we could see Fedor have a very tough night, and Brett Rogers hits so hard that i wouldn't rule out Fedor getting knocked out. I think Fedor is too smart to stand and trade with Rogers, he knows that's Rogers only chance of winning. Fedor will take this fight to the ground and submit Rogers quite easily. Getting Rogers on the floor might take a bit of hard work though, he is a strong guy with good take down defense. Fedor will have to tire him out a little first.
This is Fedors first fight in the cage, so this could have an effect on Fedor also. But Fedor lives for this, i bet he has been doing many hours of training inside a cage to prepare for this fight.
Prediction: Fedor by submission.
Let me know what you think.

David Haye has arrived in Germany today, with just under a week to go until he faces the biggest test of his boxing career. He looked very tired and said he had been up since very early to catch the flight. Haye also did not finish training until 1am, then having to eat food etc. Haye still was nice enough to fight the sleep deprivation to let the press interview him, and he also signed some autograpths for the fans.
Ok, with that said back to the fight. David Hayes trainer has said Haye will try to knock out Valuev, thats what his aim is. Adam Booth said that Haye always goes for the knockout and this fight will be no different.
Personally i think this is the wrong kind of tactics to use against Nikolay Valuev. He has never been stopped, he has never even been down. I was watching a video on Youtube the other day titled "Valuev Can Take It", and i must say, Valuev was taking some brutal shots to the face (this was earlier in his career when he had less experience and less boxing skills), but he did not go down! Valuev can take some serious punches. I can not see David Haye knocking Valuev out. David Haye has power, but it should not be overated.
With David Haye going for a knock out, Haye could actually punch himself out and get knocked out himself. This is what i beleive will happen. Haye is too trigger happy, he wants to trade punches with the beast, if he does that will be the end for David Haye. He needs to fight with controlled aggression, something Haye does not really do very well. If Haye does not fight the type of fight tactics that the legend Evander Holyfield used, but with more aggression, and being prepared to take a few more risks he will lose. Saying that, i don't think Haye could fight that fight if he wanted to: Haye does not have fast footwork, not when it comes to jumping in and out. When he has fought that way in the past he has tired very quickly, and that was against opponents half the size of Valuev.
Valuev is just too big to stand in front of and trade punches with. David Haye does not have the chin to take Valuevs big tree trunk arms in the face. David Haye does not have the chin, stamina, or ring craft of even an older Evander Holyfield, and i think maybe David Haye knows this, and that is why he is going to go all out for the knockout. The other reason being that he knows he wont get the decision is Germany if the fight goes the distance. Haye is playing a very dangerous game, could he be the first man to knock Valuev out? Well, this is heavyweight boxing, anything can happen, but i think the chances are slim.
My prediction for this fight is: David Haye comes out strong, trading with Valuev for the first 4 - 5 rounds. Valuev gets rocked but does not go down. Valuev uses his weight to lean on David Haye through the next few rounds, landing his own punches on Hayes suspect head and chin. By around the 9th - 10th David Haye is all out of steam, Valuev knocks Haye out through Haye's sheer exhaustion. Either that or Haye's corner refuse to let Haye come out for the end part of the fight.
I would love David Haye to win by KO to be honest. But i can't let my heart rule my head. If David Haye, from the start of the fight goes for the knockout, he will lose this fight by either KO, or just being so tired he's falling all over the place and the referee stops the fight.
Just to let you know, the fight starts at about 9pm, or just after 9pm UK time. I beleive coverage starts at 8pm though. Don't miss it!
**Quick Update**
David Haye's camp are not happy. The mind games have started. Valuev's promoter has put the Haye camp in a hotel too far out of town, far away from anything, shops, people etc. David Haye was not happy about this and Adam Booth (Haye's trainer) had to find them another Hotel.
